Floating With Your Friends

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One thing that will be important if you are a guy is that you put yourself in a place where - even as you begin to grow up and start a life of your own - you are still making time to hang out with all your old guy friends; after all, there are certain aspects of companionship that your job and wife and children will not be able to fulfill, which makes your time with the guys extremely valuable. When you are trying to make sure you are spending time with the guys, however, one problem is that is that it can sometimes be difficult to find things that everyone wants to do - and moreover, it can be difficult to find things that will truly take everyone away from the distractions of their everyday life for a bit, allowing everyone to hang out together; this is where the idea of a float trip with the guys comes into play!

When you are planning a float trip to get all the guys together, the first thing you will need to realize is that most of the guys likely have busy schedules these days, so you cannot simply throw something together and expect everyone to be there; you will need to plan in advance, and you will need to make sure everyone has time to make sure they can be there.

When you are doing a float trip with the guys, the best thing to do is to float during the day and to camp overnight, so make sure you find a place where you can do this, as this will put everyone in a position where they are truly spending time together, rather than just being around one another for the day before all going back to their lives. Do as much as you can in advance: make reservations, buy food that you can all grill over a fire for dinner and breakfast (it's best to do the shopping on your own and just collect everyone's share of the money when you arrive), and head on out with the guys for a day of fun on the river; it will be a great memory, and it will be an experience all of you will be happy to have been a part of!

Why You Should Use Online Banking

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When it comes to money, it is always good to be able to keep track of yours all the time. It used to be that you would not know you messed something up in your records for a month or longer, as you had to wait for your statement to arrive in the mail before you could compare your records to the bank's records, but this is no longer the case. You now have the option of checking your account whenever you want by using online banking. But the convenience of checking your bank account whenever you want is not the only benefit of online banking. Here are a few things to consider if you do not currently use online banking yourself.

If someone gets their hands on your personal information, this is one of the scariest things that can happen to you. It is important for you to know immediately if someone has been accessing your bank account! But you will not notice unauthorized activity on your account for far too long if you are only able to check your account when you receive a statement once a month. Online banking prevents this from occurring.

The ability online banking gives you to pay your bills online is another great aspect of online banking. In fact, you can even set up your account to pay reocurring bills automatically, every month. This can save you the hassle of writing checks and mailing payments for all your bills, and can also ensure that you do not forget!

And finally, online banking also keeps your bank from having to use so much paper. It is important that we each do our part as we all move toward trying to be more environmentally conscious. While online banking might seem like a "little thing," every little thing adds up! If everyone does their small part, it will make a big difference.

If you want to sign up for online banking, chances are your bank makes it very easy to do so. Consider looking into it if you have not started using it already! Not only will this allow your life to become a lot easier, but it will also allow the world to continue to become a much better place.

Exploring Three Things To Know About French Press Coffee

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If coffee is something you are a pretty big fan of, you have probably heard it said that one of the smoothest cups of coffee you can enjoy is coffee made in a French press, but while this is certainly true, this statement comes with an "only if"; French press coffee is some of the smoothest and most delicious coffee you can enjoy, but only if you make it the right way!

As is the case with any type of coffee you venture to drink, the beans you use will be as big a part of the flavor as anything else, but in addition to making sure you are only using high-quality beans for your French press, it will also be important that the beans are ground properly; if the beans are ground too fine, your coffee will not only taste too bitter, but will also be grainy, as pieces of the grounds will make their way into your cup, so either have your beans ground coarse when you buy them, or purchase a burr grinder and do the grinding on your own!

It is easy to make French press coffee, but it will be important to make sure you are not skipping any steps in making it, or it will not turn out right; when you pour the hot water over the beans, pour slowly and evenly, so that all the beans are hit directly with the hot water, then stir using a plastic spoon (so as not to scratch the glass) and let your coffee concoction sit for about four minutes to get the full flavor.

Finally, you will should understand that French press coffee is the ultimate "drink it black" coffee - but even if you are not a fan of black coffee, you should drink your French press coffee right away, as it is best enjoyed fresh, rather than stored in a thermos and saved for later.

If you have a French press, or if you have been thinking that you might pick up a French press, follow these tips when you make coffee in it, and you will be able to get the most out of the wonderful flavor and experience afforded by this type of coffee.

How To Achieve Success In All Areas Of Your Life

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One issue that plenty of people seem to face in life is that they want to “achieve success” – and not just in a single, specified area (although, of course, achieving success in single, specified areas is certainly part of this), but rather, in a score of areas; of course, one issue with “achieving success” is that accomplishing this goal can often be more difficult and complicated than it might seem on the surface, and for this reason, it is valuable to know a few specific pointers that will help you achieve success.

In aiming to achieve success, one thing that will likely go a long way in helping you is for you to ask yourself the question of ‘How badly you want it’; rather than simply making the general statement that you want to achieve success, ask yourself how badly you want to achieve success, and keep your answer to this question in mind when you need to make sacrifices in order to achieve success.

Of course, after you have determined how badly you want success, it will also be important that you figure out exactly the things that you will need to give up in order to achieve success; start out this step in the process by determining what you might be able to get rid of in order to increase your chance at success, and follow this by asking yourself what you are willing to give up in order to achieve success.

And finally, the thing that will be most important of all when you are chasing success in a variety of areas in your life is for you to learn to make ‘one decision at a time’; it is easy to look far into the future and to get overwhelmed – often losing sight of the present as well – but when you learn to make one decision at a time, you can continue to make right decisions. And as you continue to make “one right decision” at a time, you will continue to lead yourself further into a continuing stream of success.

Verizon's New Top End Tablet Computer

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
The same features are included on many tablet computers that are released today. A touch screen that they think is the best is always included. Having the widest variety of applications is yet another claim. It is hard to sort through them to find the one that is actually the best for your money. The choice has been made easier though since the Motorola XOOm Android Table is teamed with Verizon. This tablet has features not found on any other tablet paired with any other cellular service provider.

Upgrading to Verizon's 4G LTE wireless service is possible with this tablet and honestly it's best feature. Currently a 3G service plan for tablets is the only option offered by other cellular services. Verizon’s 4G LTE service will allow you to enjoy data speeds up to 10 times faster than other 3G networks. Movies you want to watch, viewing web pages, and music downloads will all take just a portion of the time as with other services.

Cell phones are the devices that are most commonly associated with the Android operating system. Usually these operating systems are better optimized for a phone but many tablets use them anyways. This tablet uses Android’s Honeycomb 3.0 operating system. Tablet computers with larger screens are the main reason this operating system was made. Different applications or programs are available through the home screen and instant access. Whichever ones you use the most can be set up this way.

The run of the mill tablet computer is not worth the money. Seven hundred dollars is a pretty common price point for many of these tablets so don't waste money on a basic one. The exact features you want should be searched for when you get one. Tablets are meant to be used on the go, so also make sure that you get one that works well with a top notch cellular company like Verizon.

Choosing A Bird Feeder That Is Right For You

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have gone shopping for bird feeders, you might be surprised to realize what a large selection is offered in most stores. The great number of choices can seem downright overwhelming, in stores from Target and Walmart to Lowes and Home Depot and even on Amazon! How do you know which bird feeder is the right bird feeder for your yard, or for the birds you hope to attract? This guide can help you better understand your choices if you have been wanting to purchase a bird feeder, and have not been able to figure it all out.

Platform feeders are the most basic form of feeders; on these, the seed is simply poured, and the birds are able to land and eat. If you want to attract songbirds as well as other large birds, this is an excellent option. One problem with platform feeders, however, is that they are typically easy for squirrels to get to, and this can cause your seed to disappear quickly. If you decide that a platform feeder is the right choice for you, you will have to make certain you hang it in a place that will keep squirrels from accessing it.

The tube feeder is another one of the most popular feeders, with one of the positives of a tube feeder being that squirrels cannot get to the seeds as easily, and with an added bonus of a tube feeder easily being able to feed several birds at once. One problem with tube feeders, however, is that they are often difficult for larger birds to use, which will prevent you from having as large a variety at your feeder as you might like. Another negative of tube feeders is that you must empty, disassemble, and clean your tube feeder every two weeks.

There are also specialty feeders that are designed to attract certain birds such as hummingbirds or woodpeckers if you have a certain bird in mind. These feeders do require specialty bird food as well, however, and they can still be attractive to squirrels.

image

While having a bird feeder in your yard can be fun and entertaining, you will never experience this fun or entertainment if you are unable to figure out which feeder to buy! You must figure out which feeder is the right fit for you, and then you will finally be on your way.

Keeping Yourself From Getting Lost When Backpacking

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the most important aspects of hiking, backpacking, or camping will be making sure you avoid getting lost - after all, when you are going hiking or backpacking, part of the point of the trip is to "get away from it all" and relax for an afternoon, a day, or even a few days, but getting lost out there and being stuck out there for several days longer than you intended is probably not part of your plan - so when you are going backpacking, follow these tips to ensure that you know where you are, and that you know how to get back to the place from which you started.

There are probably plenty of trails for you to choose from if you are taking a hiking or camping trip in a state park or a nature preserve. Even though you might think that a bit of adventure would be fun, you should make sure you are sticking to the marked trails, as this will keep you much safer - and even though this does not guarantee that you will be able to easily find your car when the time comes (after all, there are usually plenty of crisscrossed trails), you can at least make sure you do not end up lost in the woods, which can end up taking ages to recover from.

Your eyes will probably be roaming quite a bit, taking in all the nature around you as you march along the trail (as this is certainly one of the best ways to relax and enjoy your hike), but as you allow your eyes to roam about, make sure that make sure you are also using them to help you pay attention - every once in a while - to any landmarks that might stand out and indicate later on that you are on the right path.

And even when you have a lot of paths to choose from when you are out in the wilderness, it will be good to always have a compass and (if applicable) a map in your possession; with these two items, you should always be able to find your way to where you want to go, and to return to your car with no real problems in the end.

Tips For Getting A Job As A Fire Lookout In the Forest

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have ever taken the time to dive into Jack Kerouac's book “The Dharma Bums,” you may have become fascinated with the idea of working as a fire lookout; of course, if you are in search of a “career," this would not exactly be the best route to go, as working as a fire lookout is a seasonal job, but if you are looking for something different – something that will give you an experience you can remember for years to come – working as a fire lookout is certainly a great idea, and while fire lookout jobs are less prevalent than they used to be, you can still find some available.

Fire lookout jobs entail living in the mountains for anywhere from several weeks to several months, where you will be mostly separated from society; during your days, you will be expected to keep a log of the visual activity you see as you watch for fires, but other than these sporadic responsibilities, your days will mostly be filled with whatever you want to fill them with. Of course, there is not exactly a whole lot with which you can “fill your days" since you will be in the woods all by yourself, which is why this job would not be perfect for everyone; however, if you feel that it would be advantageous to you to truly “get away from it all” for a number of months, escaping the hubbub of everyday life and immersing yourself in nature, being a fire lookout presents the perfect opportunity.

image

You should visit the Forest Fire Lookout Association's website if being a fire lookout is something that grabs your interest; on this website, they provide information that about being a fire lookout, and they provide job leads and information on each state's fire lookout posts. When you find how many people are interested in being a fire lookout, you may be surprised, so realize that interest in the job does not automatically mean you will get the job, but it is certainly something worth pursuing, and the Forest Fire Lookout Association website will give you everything you need in order to pursue it!

How To Plan A Trip To Las Vegas

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the best ways to “get out of town” and “away from it all” is to plan a trip to Vegas – either with your significant other, with your “dude friends” (if you’re a guy), or with your “girls” (if you’re a girl) – but before you commit to a trip to Vegas, there are a few things you will want to keep in mind; after all, everyone goes to Vegas thinking they will come home with a lot more money in their pockets, but it is wisest to plan the most cost-efficient trip possible, in case this dream does not manifest itself in reality!

When you are looking for plane tickets to Vegas, make sure you are aware of the fact that it is smart to have your money ready as you scour the Internet; oftentimes, airlines will run temporary specials on trips to Vegas, and if you can be flexible with your travel dates, you can wait until you find one of these deals, and can then purchase your tickets before the deal disappears!

A lot of people also make the mistake, when traveling to Vegas, of spending far more than they need to on a hotel room; even on The Strip, you should be able to get a hotel room for very little money, as all the hotels in Vegas double as casinos, and they want to get you to stay with them so that you will spend your money with them!

Finally – before you even set foot in Vegas – make sure you set a limit of how much money you are willing to lose in the casinos, and come up with a plan (if necessary) to help you stick to this limit; in this way, you can ensure that you will pace yourself in your gambling, and that you will not lose more than you are willing to lose!

When you plan a trip to Vegas with this approach, you will be able to get the most out of the trip itself – without spending any more money than you actually need to.

Wondering What You Need in a Camcorder?

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
There is a ton that has changed over the past few years in the world of camcorders. If you are like me, you prefer to have a pretty good idea of what you want before you spend hundreds of dollars on a piece of electrical equiptment.

You may wish to consider if size of the camcorder is an important factor for you. There are a wide range in sizes of camcorders that are in the marketplace at this time. Perhaps the right size for convenience is the pocket camcorders. The video quility isn't the best out there using these cameras but this is to be expected as they are so small. Larger camcorders have much better video quality and more features included with them.

Consider the type of memory that you prefer or need to use. There are no analog video recorders left, and DVD recorders are becoming scarce also. Most camcorders use hard drives and flash sticks now. Flash drives require SD cards to be used with the cameras while the hard drive models have an internal hard drive much like a computer. Ultimately the choice is personal on this one. The advantages of the flash drives are it is easy to swap them out for as long of recording time as you need. On the other hand hard drives are nice because you don't have the hassel of purchasing extra SD cards. This is ultimately personal preference.

I personally like to look at camcorders that have a high optical zoom verses a high digital zoom. This is what the lens is capable of doing verses what the computer is able to do. You will have a clear picture with a higher optical zoom then you will when you have a low optical zoom and then a high digital zoom. You really should look for a camcorder that has a nice image stabilization system. This makes the picture much less shaky when you watch it on a television.

The newest 3D options may be of interest to you but remember in order to truly appreciate these you must have a 3D option on the television. You may decide that you are not in need of the 3D option because you don't own a 3D capable tv.  You can save some money by skipping this option.

Fishing with a Great Monofilament Line

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Many places around the world have opened their fishing season. The season usually doesn't start until the fish have spawned in the early spring. This means they are kept free from fishing long enough for healthy young to be produces and the species is thus preserved. There are usually limits regarding fish size and quantity when the season does finally begin. It is time for fisherman to get out on the water and enjoy the day after they learn the rules of the lake.

Gathering food through fishing is an extremely old method. They have been eaten since man has lived near water and they are extremely healthy to eat. One of the most relaxing of all activities man can partake in is also another way to view it. One of the most popular sports in the world is fishing because of these two facts. Over the years there has been a drastic change in fishing methods. We now catch fish with high tech lines and rods even though fish were originally caught with spears.

Fishing line and its invention has transformed how we fish. The ability to catch a larger variety of fish was afforded and the sport become much more efficient to accomplish. Over the years fishing line itself has also changed very much. A thread that was made from natural materials was how it was originally done. Now the line is made from synthetic materials that are much stronger than organic ones. This fishing line lasts longer and breaks less than any type made in the past.

Sufix Elite is a new type of fishing line that is meant to stand up to the roughest treatment and biggest fish. A monofilament is what composes the line. This means that it is not braided like much line made today, but instead made into one solid string. It is one of the best fishing lines made today and will help catch the biggest fish!

Exploring Jennifer Egan's "A Visit From The Goon Squad"

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Whenever there is an especially popular book, one thing that will often happen to it is that a lot of people will pick it up without knowing much about it at all, and while the author will certainly not mind all the extra sales from these purchases, the readers who realize the book in question is "not for them" may wish they had saved their money; one of the most popular books over the last couple years has been Jennifer Egan's "A Visit From The Goon Squad," which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and has been flying off the shelves ever since, but before you pick this book up yourself, you will want to make sure it is right for you.

When it comes to most books, it is fairly easy to answer the question of 'what it is about,' but when it comes to "A Visit From The Goon Squad," this is not exactly the case; essentially, the book is comprised of 13 short stories - but as these stories overlap and intertwine, they tell a comprehensive story of people, life, and America.

Anyone who enjoys diving into experimental fiction - or, quite frankly, anyone who can become enraptured by great writing, no matter what the structure of the story around it is like - is sure to enjoy this book, as it is masterfully written, and is certainly packed with entertainment and stories worth reading.

On the other hand, you probably will not enjoy this book if you are a traditionalist, or if you require the books you read to have a classic plot arc; this book will not give you much in the way of "protagonist," "antagonist," "conflict," and "resolution," and will not give you much pleasure if you need these things in the books you read.

If you are able to read the preceding paragraphs and feel that you might enjoy this book, the answer is that you probably will; if, on the other had, you are able to read the preceding paragraphs and think, "Eh, I'm not so sure about this book," you will probably be best to leave it alone!

Hearing Both Sides Of Your Children's Arguments

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are a parent, you certainly understand that one of the toughest things about parenting can be making sure that you are showing no favoritism whatsoever, and of course, one of the toughest times to make sure you are not showing any favoritism is when your children come to you, hoping that you can help them resolve an argument the two of them are having; of course, more often than not, it will not actually be both of your children coming to you, asking you to mediate an argument (wouldn't it be nice if it was!), but instead, it is usually one child coming to you and complaining about the other. When this happens, the temptation can often be to assume that the child who came to you was the child who was wronged, but before you make this assumption, you will want to be certain to get both sides of the story.

The first step in making sure you hear both sides of your children's arguments is preemptive, as you should train your children to try to work things out on their own before they come to you; this concept, of course, can take quite a bit of time to gain traction with your children, but eventually you will begin to see the fruits of them working out problems on their own, which will keep you from having to get in the middle of things so often.

Even as your children start to get better at working out problems on their own, however, they will still sometimes come to you; if one child is coming to you and complaining about something the other child did, make sure you seek out the other child and get their side of the story, keeping accusation completely out of your tone, before you render any sort of judgment.

And more important than anything else, you need to grasp the idea that mediating is less important than using each instance as an opportunity to train your children to treat each other respectfully and to take care of problems on their own; after you have mediated the problem in what you feel is a just manner, reinforce with them how important it is to treat each other respectfully, and to learn to work out their problems on their own!

An Easy Way to Win Your Fantasy Football League

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
The fact that there will be an NFL season this year is thrilling for many fantasy football players around the world. Cancelling the entire season was a very real possibility when the owners and players first started the lockout. A new collective bargaining agreement was thankfully hammered out instead. This new agreement should keep the labor peace for at least another ten years. The worry about missing a season will also be out of every fantasy football players head for the upcoming many years. The season though is just about upon us, which means fantasy players everywhere are scrambling to get the info they need to win.

This is why this year, more than any other year, it is important to get the Fantasy Football Almanac 2011. Winning a league will be much easier for any fantasy player when they use the info packed into this almanac. All the players in the NFL are organized expertly in this book with regards to statistics. To help break down who the best choices are at their respective positions these stats are used. To make sure the best possible team gets drafted you should formulate a draft strategy after identifying the best players at their spots. This is the single most important piece of building a championship team.

Fantasy Football Almanac 2011 The Essential Fantasy Football Reference Guide.

After the draft the Almanac will help you through the rest of the year as well. Success really hinges on key pickups all season. Keeping tabs on the players that you think will be the sleepers this year will be easy with the almanac. At any sign of life you can pick them up and add them to your team. The almanac is something many fantasy players swear by. Make sure to pick it up this year before you draft, especially considering the short time frame between the season and draft day. The bottom of your league standings is somewhere you won't be any longer.

What Is The Best Betting System For Roulette?

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
While some people can play games of chance such as blackjack, roulette, and craps just for the fun of it, there will always be others who think that they can “hit it big with these games,” to where they can take Vegas by storm (or worse, these days, take Internet gambling by storm) and make a whole bunch of money; one thing to realize, however, is that casinos make money on these games specifically because there is no “perfect betting system” that works every time.

Because you have close to (but not quite) a 50-50 chance of winning in roulette if you play either black or red (or play odds or evens, or play high numbers or low numbers), the betting system most commonly applied by people who think they can beat the system is the martingale system; this system calls for you to double your bet each time you lose – for instance if you lose one dollar, your next bet would be $2, and if you lose that your next bet would be $4, then $8, then $16, and so on – with the thought that you will eventually win, and win that $1 every time. The problem with the martingale system is that it is quite possible to lose 10 times or more in a row (just as a coin might land on tails 10 or more times in a row), at which point you would be betting over $500 just to try to win that $1 – which will eventually push you against the table maximum, and will put you in a position where you are risking big losses for small gains.

The anti-martingale system is another system that is often used, where you increase your betting when things are going well, and decrease your bet size when you are on a losing streak; even when you use this approach, however, the fact remains that the house has about a 5% advantage no matter what you do, and there is no betting system you can use that will change this.

If you have a trip planned to Las Vegas or Atlantic City and want to play some roulette, the best thing you can do is sit down with a certain amount of money you are willing to bet, and stop as soon as you have bet this money; so for instance, perhaps you will sit down with $100, and some of your bets will be for $2, some will be for $5, and some will be for $10 or more, but regardless of what you win or lose from this $100, you stop as soon as this original $100 has been bet; when you do this, you will be able to keep your losses under control, and may even make some money over your weekend in the city!

Tips For Shopping For Deals On Books

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you get a real kick out of reading, you may find that this is an activity that costs a lot more money than you might have thought; after all, it is not as if new books are exactly inexpensive, and if you read a book every week or two, this money can pile up until a large chunk of your spending money is going toward new books! Of course, the money spent on books is certainly worth it for those who love reading, as books provide the person in question with plenty of enjoyment - but if you are among those who love books so much you do not care what you have to spend on them, you will likely find that you will get even more enjoyment out of them when you can buy them without going broke!

image

With the emergence of Amazon over the last decade, there is one place you always know you can go in order to find great deals on books; when you shop for books on Amazon, however, make sure you are paying attention to the seller ratings and the descriptions of the books (after all, you may not want to spend five dollars on a book if the description tells you that the cover is torn!).

Another way for you to save money on books in the long run is to buy a Kindle; if you travel a lot, this is an especially great option, as you can bring many books with you at once without lugging a pile of physical books around - and after the initial investment of purchasing the Kindle itself, you will be spending a lot less on books from that point forward.

And of course, probably the best way of all to get great deals on books is by becoming familiar with your local used book stores; you will probably not find the selection at a used book store that you would find on Amazon, but you will often be able to find books at an even better price than you could find on Amazon - and best of all, you will be able to take the book home with you right away, instead of waiting for the book to ship to your home!

Tips For Painting The Inside Of Your House

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have never painted the inside of your house, you might think it is as simple as pulling out a roller and going to work. But there is a reason why professional painters are hired for so many painting jobs: painting a room can be some serious work! At the same time, however, you can save money, be in control, and maybe even enjoy it, if you learn how to paint your walls on your own!

Make sure you are absolutely certain you have the color you want before you get started painting - this is extremely important! After all, it can be quite disheartening to spend two whole days painting a room, only to realize you wish you had painted the room something totally different.

Next, remember that paint is not easy to get off of carpet, wood floors, and furniture, so you want to protect everything in the area. In the room you are painting, move out everything that you can move out, and cover everything else with a tarp or with an old blanket. You can be as careful as you want, and paint can still drip, so do your part to prevent a disaster from occurring.

Do not start painting until you have made sure you have all the proper equipment you will need for the job. Get a ladder that stretches high enough to keep you from having to strain for the whole job, and purchase a good, wide, sturdy brush for the edging work. The edging is the hardest part, but it is also the most important, so take your time on it and get it just right. Once the edging is finished, you can finally break out the rollers, dip them in the paint, and get to work on the big stuff!

Remember to keep the room ventilated, and if the paint is low on the walls, make sure you are keeping pets and children away. Painting can be somewhat easy and even fun once you get the hang of it; but remember, shortcuts might seem like they make the job easier, but you will truly be rewarded if you take the time to do the job right!

Turning Your House Into A Haven

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One thing that is really important is that you have a place you can go to (that is, that you can "escape" to) in your everyday life that feels like a haven - a place where you feel protected from all the craziness that is going on in your life - and one of the best places to choose for your haven is your house, as this is a place where you spend a large portion of your time; of course, there are a lot of things that go into the process of making your house a haven, and these things might differ slightly from person to person, but here are a few tips to keep in mind if you are wanting to give your house this transformation yourself.

When it comes to a home, one mistake many people make is that they decorate it in a way that they feel will appeal to others, instead of decorating their house so that it appeals to them; when you are decorating your house, aim for a look that is comfortable and appealing to you, as this will help you to feel more comfortable when you are at home - and furthermore, do this decorating yourself, so you will feel as though you have constructed this place, instead of feeling as though it is a place that was constructed by others.

Another thing that will cause your house to feel more like a haven is for the different rooms in your house to have different auras about them; if all the rooms in your house feel exactly the same, this can often cause your house to feel like one big room (which can be overwhelming), but when each room in your house has a different feel, this will give you different places to go depending on your mood.

And finally (the thing that is most difficult at all when it comes to turning your house into a haven), you will need to do the best you can to keep your house from being a "war zone"; there will be times when you need to have discussions (or possibly even arguments) with the people you live with, but try to confine these discussions to one designated area of your house, so that the rest of your house can remain calm and untroubled.

When you turn your house into a haven with these steps in mind, you will do plenty to keep your house calm and relaxing, and to provide yourself with a place you can escape to - even when everything else in your life seems difficult to deal with!

How To Write A Good Blog On Cooking

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you want to make a living off of cooking, or if you simply get a great deal of pleasure out of cooking, running a cooking blog can be tremendously beneficial, as it will help you share knowledge, gain knowledge, and connect with other appreciators of cooking. But before you can gain all these benefits of a cooking blog, you need to make sure you know how to properly run a cooking blog - maintaining it in such a way that readers are drawn toward it and visit it consistently.

Pick an angle: Too many people fail in their attempts to run a successful cooking blog because they decide that their blog will focus on "cooking," which leaves them trying to focus on far too many things at one time. If you hope for your cooking blog to be a success, you need to pick an area of cooking that is of particular interest to you, and you need to focus most of your posts on this particular area - setting yourself up as an enthusiast or an expert in this area.

Photos and multimedia: Photos, videos, and audio in blogs are always beneficial, but this is especially the case in cooking, as the visuals of the food and the cooking process are not only helpful to those who are reading, but will also go a long way in making your site easier on the eyes and the mind, which makes it more accessible to readers.

Writing frequently: Consistency in posting is one of the big keys to success in any form of blog writing, and this is no different for a cooking blog; your readers should know that they can come to your on a regular basis and find new content to comment on and to help them in their own cooking excursions!

Once you put all these elements together, you will be able to watch your readership grow over time - and as your readership grows, your cooking knowledge will also begin to grow!

Using The Sleep Cycle App To Feel More Awake

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you own an iPhone or an android phone, you may have heard of the "Sleep Cycle" app; which is an app that is supposed to work by monitoring your sleep and making sure it wakes you up when you are at your lightest point of sleep - and which, of course, is supposed to result in you feeling much more awake than you would if you were woken up from a deep sleep.

Of course, wondering whether or not an app on your cell phone (even if it is a "smartphone"!) could work well enough to do something like this is natural, but the answer to this question is actually not complicated at all: It absolutely works, as the way in which your body moves will differ depending on the sleep cycle you are in, and the app tracks your movements to know when you are in deep sleep and when you are in lighter sleep.

If you ever have a tendency to feel more tired than you should after a full night of sleep, you should certainly consider using this app (it only costs 99 cents!) - after all, as long as you use it correctly, it just might be the difference between you always feeling tired and you feeling suddenly much more awake.

You will have to keep your phone plugged in to use this app, as the screen cannot be shut off during the night in order for the app to work; this is an inconvenience, of course, but it is a minor inconvenience compared to the fact that it will help you to feel a lot less tired.

You will set the alarm for a certain time, just as you would with a normal alarm clock, but the difference is that with the Sleep Cycle app, you will wake you within a 30 minute window of that time you set - whenever you hit a point in your sleep when you are finally in "light sleep"; after you plug your phone in and set the alarm, all you have to do is set the phone face-down near your head, with the top of the phone facing you, and you will be all set to sleep, and in the morning the Sleep Cycle app will wake you up when you are in your lightest state of sleep, and you will wake up feeling much more rested as a result.

Buying an Electronic Toothbrush

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Oral health is for more then just minty fresh breath.  Brushing your teeth is incredibly important for your over all health. Heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and stroke are all now beginning to be linked to poor dental hygiene. Your lifespan can be increased simply by keeping your gums and teeth healthy.

Many dentists are beginning to promote the use of electronic toothbrushes over the manual brushes. Electronic toothbrushes are far more efficient at removing plaque from teeth. Electronic toothbrushes are cabable of improving gum health. This is all very important for oral health.

Electronic toothbrushes can have many features, so what should you consider? You will have the option of rechargeable batteries or AA batteries, sonic movement or spinning movement. No matter what brush you purchase find one that you can replace the heads on about every month. Otherwise you will have to toss the entire toothbrush and replace it again.

You will need to determine much you wish to spend. There are disposable brushes and models that are intended to be reused for a very long time. Two very nice reusable toothbrushes are Oral B and Sonicare.  These both contain rechargable batteries and can be used for a very long time. At about $100 you can purchase one of these high quality brushes. Oral B offers a spinning head on their models, while Sonicare offers a fast side-to-side motion.

Arm and Hammer offers the Spin Brush Pro Clean, which is a less costly option. This also offers changeable heads, which is a good sign for their quality of prodcut, and the option of replacing batteries instead of recharging them. This brush can be found around $10 but there are other good options that are at about $20.

Almost any electronic toothbrush is better then manual brushing if done correctly. Make sure to check with your dentist as to what brush will be the best for you.

Home Deep Frying

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Whey spend a bunch of money going to a restraunt to get some of your favorite snack foods, when you can make them at home for a fraction of the cost. I know what you are thinking, “nothing beats the fried chicken and potatoes I can get at my local eatery,” well that is not entirely true. Hom deep fryers have come a long way over the last few years. Todays fryers have improved in their ability to cook food incredibly well.

If you decide to purchase a fryer, consider one that is well insulated and has an accurate temperature control. I highly recommend making sure you also have a stand by thermometer to make sure the oil is the appropriate temperature needed for frying that particular food item. My recommendation is with the Presto 5466 fryer. It has a dual basket system and seems to have good heating and insulation to keep the oil the appropriate temperature.

If you love fried potatoes (be it white or sweet potatoes) you should consider getting a potato cutter. This has many different dyes for cutting your potatoes from home fries to thinner restraunt style. Then fry them up to your liking. You are getting to make fries for pennies verses three dollars at a restaurant.

Do you love funnel cakes that are sold at carnivals and fairs around the U.S.? All you need is a funnel and strainer and you can make them from home. These make great snacks for a party or even with breakfast with a bit of fruit and powdered sugar. You can fry a ton of different things. The Best Fryer Cookbook Ever is chocked full of ideas for frying. Give home frying a shot, you will be happy with the right fryer.

Looking At Great Books For Your Children To Read

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
A lot of parents hope that their children will enjoy reading, but one problem many parents face is that they are not sure exactly what books they should pass along to their children; after all, as great as reading is for a child's mind, there often tends to be a lot more adult content in books than you might like your child to be reading - so here are three great books that you can know are safe for your child to read!

Books and stories that deal with fantasy appeal, and with other magical elements, appeal to a great number of children, and there are no books that mastered these elements more than the work of Tolkien; of course "The Lord of the Rings" was written more for teenagers and adults than for children, and might provide a very tricky reading challenge for a child, but "The Hobbit" is a wonderful children's book that your child is almost certain to enjoy!

If you want to find a series that is full of these fantastical elements that children tend to enjoy, look to one of Tolkien's contemporaries - CS Lewis; Lewis created the much-beloved Narnia series, and with seven books in the series in all, your child will have at their disposal plenty of reading to enjoy!

And if your child is not a big fan of the fantastical, or if they simply want to try reading something a little bit different, another great series to look at is the "Little House on the Prairie" series by Laura Ingles Wilder; this series tells the story of a family of pioneers in the early days of our country, and is a great learning experience for children while also being immensely entertaining!

Getting your children into reading is a great thing to do - and when you select any books from this list, you should have no problem doing this, and getting your children to enjoy reading in the process!

Improving At Disc Golf

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One thing that most people are constantly on the lookout for is ways by which they can relax and enjoy a bit of time off - and most especially, ways by which they can enjoy a bit of time off outdoors - and while there are plenty of ways to do this, one way that a lot of people find to be especially enjoyable is disc golf; of course, if you are not especially competitive, you can go out and toss the disc around and automatically have fun, but if you are a competitive person, disc golf will not be much fun at all until you improve your game to a point where you feel satisfied with your play!

The first area where you will want to improve is in your long game, as you will not be able to do much on the disc golf course if you are unable to drive the disc a long distance; in order to improve your long game, you should go out every once in a while with all your discs and, instead of actually playing, practice your drives for about a half hour, working on throwing the discs long and straight, long and to the right, and long and to the left.

After you have gotten your long game to a point where you can regularly drive your discs the way you want to drive them, you will be ready to work on your mid-range game; as you play, start getting to know your discs, knowing how far they are likely to roll when they hit the ground, what you need to do to get them to curve around obstacles, and how hard you need to throw them to make them go different distances.

And one of the parts of disc golf that tends to give a lot of people problems is putting, as they end up missing all the long putts they try, putting themselves in bad shape for their next shot in the process. The best thing you can do in order to improve your short game in disc golf is to go out and play by yourself, and instead of worrying about your score, you should try to take putts every time you are near enough to try one; even though you will miss most of these long putts - and will even put yourself in worse shape for your next shot - you will continue to get better with each putt you try, until these long shots are eventually no problem at all!

Tips For Taking Good Care Of Your Car

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Regardless of whether you have an expensive, beautiful, brand new car or a car that is several years old, it will be important that you view your car as an investment, and even though it is unlikely that your car will appreciate in value the way most investments do, when you take care of your car correctly, you can at least ensure that it does not depreciate as quickly; keep these tips in mind as you make an effort to take care of your car, and you will be able to keep that car's value at a reasonably high level, even as the years and the miles pile up.

Perhaps the biggest thing you will need to pay attention to in order to keep yourself safe, and to keep your car in good condition as a whole, is your tires; you will want to make sure you are checking the air in your tires at least once a month, and you should make sure you are repairing and replacing your tires when necessary (and of course, while the body of your car has little to do with safety, it has a lot to do with your car's resale value, so make sure the body remains in good shape - keeping it clean and looking good - as this will extend the life of the body of your car as well).

Over time, a lot of people allow the interior of their car to go to pieces, as they fail to clean up spots (instead allowing them to turn into stains), and as they allow trash and dust and smells to pile up inside the car; take the time to vacuum your car once every couple weeks, remember to dust your car when you vacuum, and do not allow trash to sit in your car, as all of these things will add together to keep the interior of your car in good shape as time goes by.

And when it comes to keeping the value of your car at its highest level, the most important thing of all will be taking care of the things under the hood. Every three thousand miles you should change the oil in your car, every so often you should use fuel injector cleaner, you should keep leaves, dirt, and debris out of your engine area, you should clean battery acid as it builds up, and it will be important that you get your engine checked by a mechanic every six months or so, and you will be able to extend the life of your car much longer, while also keeping its resale value at a high level!

How To Keep Your House Clean

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
For the most part, people would agree that there is there is not a whole lot that is more annoying and frustrating than residing in a messy house - the only problem, of course, is that for a lot of people, one of the few things that actually is more annoying and frustrating to them than a messy house is having to actually keep a house clean, and for this reason, they sacrifice one discomfort at the expense of another and live in a house that is always a lot messier and a lot dirtier than it needs to be!

While it is true that there is no "universally perfect" way to keep a house clean, one thing that works well for many people (yes, even for many people who hate having to clean a house!) is having a set of "chores" that you assign yourself each week; mark down all the things in your house that need to be cleaned every month or so, and then break these items down into four groups of tasks so that each one can be taken care of one weekend per month.

In addition to taking care of a few smaller things once every month, you should also keep in mind some of the bigger, more thorough cleaning jobs you will want to undertake twice each year; add to this list the smaller tasks that do not need to be done frequently, and set aside one "cleaning day" in the fall and one in the spring, during which you can take care of these "twice per year" items.

And of course, cleaning as you go is the best way to keep a house from becoming a mess; as you move through each day, pick up after yourself, of course, and also, keep your eyes open for things that require cleaning, and knock them out on the fly.

When you break cleaning down into a regimented approach in this this manner, it will cease being such a seemingly monumental task, and you will be able to live in a clean house - without feeling like you have to do "so much" work to make this a reality!

Decorate The Walls Of Your Home Without Going Broke!

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you recently moved into a house, you surely want the house to look nice - and this is the case regardless of whether you bought the house or are simply renting. And while part of making the house look nice is adding furniture and all your personal belongings, there is another big part of making a house your home; this part is your walls, as you will want to decorate them with something looks great and is uniquely "you." The problem is, it can be difficult to leave your bank account intact while also decorating your house in a good-looking way that is uniquely you. Follow these tips if you do not want to go broke in the process of making the walls of your house look as good as possible!

Rather than jumping right out and investing in expensive wall decorations, you should make a much smaller investment in a few magazines first. With a subscription to House Beautiful, Timber Home Living, or Country Living, you will already be in great shape to get started, as all three of these are among the best magazines for home decorating advice. All three of these magazines will also give you great ideas of ways to decorate your walls without going broke.

You also need to be able to distinguish between a room that is decorated "nicely" and a room that is decorated both "nicely" and "like you," as you will want your rooms to be both! After all, the price tag on something does not indicate whether it will help your house to feel like a home. In fact, when items have a bit more character to them, you will actually find that you often identify with them more closely.

Finally, establishing - before you ever tackle a room - what each room's theme will be is a great idea when it comes to decorating the walls of your home. This will enable you to shop for specific items (or for specific "ideas") with a budget around these items, instead of simply seeing things you like and buying them.

Once you finally get the walls in your home decorated, your house will truly feel like a home; it might be a bit of work, but the work is definitely worth it!

Three Places To Go For Fall Foliage

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
People travel from all over the world to see the fall foliage in the United States, and you might not have even realized that some of these tremendous vacation destinations are closer than you realized. Of course, everyone enjoys a vacation getaway to an exotic, faraway place, but such vacations can cost some serious change. If you want to take a wonderful trip that you will remember forever, without emptying your bank account, consider taking a fall foliage trip. But make sure you plan in advance - the lodging around these places usually fills up early. After all, these places are vacation gems to people from other parts of the world, even if these places just seem like "part of America" to you!

Of course, New England has a famous fall foliage reputation, and if you live in or near New England, you surely know this already. But while a beautiful fall seems like a natural part of life to natives of this part of the country, few take the time to actually get out and enjoy the beauty. If you live in New England or plan to visit the region in the fall, and you want to avoid the large tourist crowds, add Washington County in Maine to your list. This coastline area provides some of the best fall foliage in the world, and it can be a quiet alternative to the regular beaten path.

If you live in the middle of the country, Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks is a wonderful place to visit in the fall. Lake of the Ozarks State Park has a remarkable collection of trees that are absolutely vibrant in autumn, especially around mid- to late October.

Oregon, Washington, and parts of California all offer great fall foliage opportunities if you live on the West Coast, but if you really want to capture impeccable beauty, consider traveling to Aspen, Colorado - it really isn't too far away. Aspen might be a town best known for skiing, but the colors it offers to the tourists in fall are just as marvelous. A trip to Aspen can be affordable no matter where you live in the United States, and the beauty and magnificence surely make the trip worth the effort.

Remember: just because you live in America does not mean that you have to travel far away for a great vacation; there are plenty of options, probably even right up the road from where you live!

How To Turn Your Backyard Into A Pleasant, Relaxing Haven

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you own your own house, it can be annoying to have to spend as much time working on the house (fixing things, cleaning things, and keeping everything looking great!) as you will have to, but one of the major benefits of all this work you put in is that you will also be able to enjoy the ambiance you have created with your house. When it comes to the ambiance you are creating with your house, one of the big things will be the ambiance you create in your backyard, as there is nothing quite as wonderful as having a pleasant, relaxing backyard in which you can kick back for a bit; if you have been trying to figure out exactly what you can do to turn your backyard into the haven you long to have, here are a few ideas to keep in mind.

The first thing you should realize is that clean, green grass that is well-trimmed and well-kept will be far more likely to be enjoyable and relaxing to you, so take the time to keep your lawn looking pristine and clean, as this work will pay off when it comes time to relax on your back porch or patio for an afternoon or evening.

Another way to add to the sense of relaxation on your porch or patio is by adding some extra greenery; think about planting some bushes or plants around your back porch or patio, or even consider putting potted plants around this area, as these additional, leafy friends will give your backyard that "haven" feel that will help you feel relaxed when you are out there.

And when it comes to spending pleasant, relaxing afternoons and evenings in your backyard, a couple things that are great are a hammock and a fire; find a couple trees between which you can sling a hammock (or add a hammock stand to your backyard), and consider either purchasing a chiminea or building a fire pit, as either one of these would allow you to spend some evenings in your backyard with a nice little fire smoldering to keep you warm and keep you feeling relaxed!

Tips For Grading Students Without Bias

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One thing that can be especially difficult when you are a teacher - especially if you teach a more subjective course where many of the questions on tests are free-response, or if you teach an advanced college course where many papers are required throughout the semester - can be separating your perception of or an attitude toward certain students from the manner in which you are grading their work. If you have ever found yourself in one such situation, it will be important that you are taking steps to ensure that you are grading your students' papers and tests without any bias at all - and here are a few tips and tricks to get you headed in that direction.

Getting to know the students in your class on more of a personal level is one thing that can help a lot; it can be easy to assume that you know things about the students in your class simply from the way they dress, look, or act, but you will often discover - once you start getting to know them on a more personal level - that your early perceptions were inaccurate at best.

A great trick for ensuring that you are handing out grades in a completely unbiased manner is to have students put their names at the end of the papers they turn in and the tests they take; in so doing, you can make sure you are not seeing who wrote a paper or answered the questions on the test until you have already graded the entire thing - which will completely remove your personal opinions or assumptions about a student from the equation.

And once you have begun to get to know your students on a more personal level and have ensured that you are grading papers and tests based off of content rather than biases, you can take the final step, which is helping your students to improve; your unbiased approach to grading will help you spot areas where each student is deficient, and you can aid them quite a bit in the long run by helping them improve in all these areas!
