Tips For Meeting People Who Share Your Interests

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
No matter whether you are wanting to meet new people because you have just moved somewhere new or are just simply wanting to meet new people, meeting new people is always nice – but by the same token, it is usually difficult to know exactly what you should do (or where you should go) in order to meet new people. Of course, the best way to meet new people is to make an effort to meet those who share your interests – and in order to make this happen, you will need to know the right approach to take.

Establish your interests: Most people who say they want to “meet people who share their interests” would actually not be able to answer if someone asked them what their interests are; if you are looking to meet new people who share your interests, the first thing you will need to do is make sure you establish exactly what your interests are, and exactly which of your interests have you looking for others who share them.

Go to where “they” are: The next thing for you to do is go to where the people are; depending on what you have established as your interests, “where the people are” will be different – but take some time to research the area where you live, and find out what sorts of clubs and get-togethers center around the interest or activity in question.

Chat it up: And when you go to these clubs or get-togethers, you need to realize that it is up to you to put yourself out there and meet people; even if you are generally a shy or reserved person, it will be important for you to make your best effort to engage others in conversation, and to do your best to get to know these people.

Although it can be tough at times to transition into a new living situation, or into a new circle of friends, this approach will put you in the best position to find others who share your interests – and the rewards in the long run will be great!

Training Your Cat

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Many people harbor the misconception that it is impossible to train cats, and that they must put up with whatever their cat chooses to do. And while you will not have quite as easy a time training your cat as you did your dog, the training of the two certainly share similarities. Once you understand the little things it takes to train your cat, you will be able to share your house with a truly well-behaved feline!

image

As is the case with dogs, the tone of voice you use with your cat will determine the way they respond to you. Never yell at your cat, but instead, always keep your voice at the same level of volume, using a stern tone when your cat has been bad and a happy tone when they have been good. The same goes for all the things you might be training your cat in, including litter box usage, keeping them from clawing your furniture, and (when they are a kitten) keeping them from biting.

Your cat can also be conditioned to respond to certain auditory signals, which can be used when they are in trouble or can even be used to call them. For instance, find something that makes a noise your cat does not like - such as a bell - and use it when they are misbehaving. On the other hand, if your cat has a favorite treat, you should clank the fork against the plate any time you are feeding it to them. Over time, they will come to associate this sound with a call to come your way, which will enable you to "call" them just like you would a dog!

And one of the best ways to keep your cat in line - acting the way you want them to act - is by using a spray bottle. You can quickly train your cat against clawing your furniture or going somewhere in your house where you do not want them to go if you simply spray them in the eyes or on the nose with water from this spray bottle whenever they do these things; they will quickly learn not to do these things, and will also learn what the spray bottle means when they see it.

Once you follow these tips, you will realize that cats can be trained just as well as dogs, and it is not really so difficult to have an obedient cat!

Exploring Ski Towns In Colorado

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Everyone knows that Colorado is a great place to visit during the winter for some skiing, or during the summer for some hiking and adventure, but more and more these days, it seems that people are also looking to Colorado as a great place in which to settle down for good! If the charming, "old town" feel of the Colorado ski towns appeals to you (not the towns that have been built up into resorts, but the ones that still hold onto their roots!), these three towns are all great places to consider looking into.

Durango: Durango is located in the southern part of the state, at an elevation of about 6,500 feet; while Durango is a bit difficult to access, this is a large part of what has allowed it to hang onto its small-town feel, and with close proximity to skiing and wilderness area, it can be the perfect combination of "escape" and "activity" for those looking for a change.

Silverthorne: Silverthorne is a small town of about 4,000 people right by several major ski areas; not only is Silverthorne known for its classic Colorado feel, but it is also known for the beauty of its surroundings, as a constant menu of breathtaking sights is afforded to all who visit or settle down.

Idaho Springs: Idaho Springs sits in the mountains about 30 minutes from Denver, and this close proximity to the city gives residents the option of enjoying the "city life" whenever the mood strikes. But while you are in Idaho Springs, you can feel like you are away from it all - and when it comes to good eating, you cannot do much better than Colorado's version of the deep dish pizza, which is the "mountain pies" of Idaho Springs.

The quiet beauty of Colorado might not be the right fit for everyone, but if you think that it might be the right fit for you, these three towns are great places to keep in mind - both for those who are looking for a place to visit, and for those who are looking for a place to live!

Trying To Get Along With Your Teenagers

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
No matter what age they are or what stage you are at in the parenting process, children can be an absolute joy, but as anyone with teenagers can tell you, children can also be a monumental trial all on their own! Although "completely getting along with" anyone will never happen, not even when it comes to your own children – there are a few things you can do to ensure you are getting along with them as best you can, and this goes for teenagers just as much as it goes for your children at any other age.

Many parents get into the habit of wanting to be their children's “friend,” and while you certainly want to be able to get along with your children – to a point where you can feel like the two of you get along the same way you do with your friends – it is even more important that you have the respect of your children; establishing respect and authority is the first step to having a good relationship with your children, as they are more likely to behave when they have respect for you, and this will open the doors for the two of you to get along just fine!

In addition to making sure that you cultivate respect from your teenager to you, making sure you are showing this same respect to them will also be important; in addition to establishing authority, make sure you are also opening yourself up to listen to them – their thoughts, ideas, and suggestions of what you can do as a parent.

Once you have gotten these “parenting” aspects taken care of, you can focus on the fun part of having a relationship with your teenager – and that is, simply having fun with them. Even though there will be trials with your teenager, continue to look for opportunities to have fun with and make memories with your teenager, as this will go a long way in strengthening your relationship, and in keeping it strong for a long time to come!

Staying Safe In Natural Disasters

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the basic needs every human has is a need for safety and security, and there are few things in life that threaten this basic need more than natural disasters; after all, natural disasters are often so much bigger than us that it seems like there is nothing we can do to keep ourselves safe when we are in their paths, but while this is true to an extent, it is also true that you can keep yourself safer in natural disasters as long as you know a few specific things that you should keep in mind.

Tornados: If you live in a part of the country where tornados frequently occur, you probably have some sort of storm cellar or basement you can get into when the sirens go off, but even if you do not have a storm cellar or a basement, there are still a few places you can go in order to keep yourself safer: when the tornado sirens go off, get in a closet that is situated underneath stairs, or get in a ground-floor bathtub with something such as a mattress on top of you, as these will help to keep you safe.

Hurricanes: Out of the three main natural disasters, you are likely to have the most advance warning of all with a hurricane; if a hurricane is headed your way, you should consider clearing out of town completely, but if you are unable to do so, you should at least make sure you have enough food and water to last you for several days, and you should board up your windows and tie down your outdoor furniture so that you can protect your house from all the damage the wind of a hurricane can cause.

Earthquakes: Earthquakes can be the most frightening natural disaster of all, as you will typically have no advance warning; once you feel an earthquake rumbling your way, however, you should get into a doorway immediately, or - if you are near a place with no power lines around - you should get into an open field where there is nothing that can fall on you.

There are times when there is nothing you can do but cross your fingers and hope for safety when a natural disaster strikes, but by keeping these tips in mind, you can at least increase your chances of staying safe in any natural disaster that comes your way.

Three Great Ballparks For Seeing A Baseball Game

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Even if you are not a fan of baseball, going to baseball games can be extremely enjoyable, as baseball games give you an opportunity to relax outdoors, chat with your friends and with others around you, and enjoy something different for a change; if you have found that you enjoy going to baseball games for these reasons, one thing that will be fun for you to do is to try to see different ballparks across the country – and if this is a goal of yours, here are three ballparks that are certainly worth trying to see.

If you would like to see some history along with your baseball game, one of the best places to go is Wrigley Field in Chicago, as it is the second oldest ballpark in America, and is truly a sight to behold; a game at Wrigley Field is something you will never forget – and if you are over on the East Coast, you cannot go wrong with Fenway Park in Boston either, as Fenway Park is the oldest ballpark in the country, and is just as beautiful and rich in history as Wrigley Field.

One of the ballparks built in the last 20 years that you should definitely try to see is Coors Field in Colorado; Coors Field has unique architecture that gives off a definite “mountain ambiance,” and with a visit to Coors Field you will be able to enjoy this unique architecture while also being able to enjoy stunning views of the city of Denver and the surrounding mountains.

And AT&T Park in San Francisco is another new ballpark that is worth a visit, and that gives a very specific ambience; this ballpark rests right against the San Francisco Bay, which affords you beautiful views of San Francisco Bay and the mainland beyond, and will give you a baseball experience you will remember for a long time to come.

If baseball games are a fun way for you to relax and enjoy an afternoon or evening, you really cannot go wrong with any baseball parks in the country, but if you are looking for some specific ballparks to visit, these three are definitely worth keeping in mind.

How To Plan A Tropical Vacation

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Vacations are great for this reason: They allow you to get away from it all for a few days and simply relax. And one of the best vacations to consider - if "getting away from it all" is what you want to do - is a tropical vacation. Although tropical vacations can sometimes be expensive and difficult to plan, you can find yourself in much better shape if you follow these simple tips!

Location: The first thing you ought to do is pick a location - which differs from what some people do, in that they try to find deals and then simply go where the deals are. If you know what you are doing, you will be able to get a good deal in just about any location you select! And while some places such as Hawaii and the Caribbean Islands tend to stand out, remember that there are also such options as Fiji, Costa Rica, and Central America.

Time: The time of year you plan to go will make a big difference on the prices you will get and the weather you will encounter. For instance, in the Caribbean, hurricane season lasts from early June to late November. If you travel there during this time, you can find much better deals on travel and lodging, but you will also risk having a very rainy vacation!

Plan in advance: Of course, a big part of getting good deals on airfare and hotels for your vacation is planning your trip in advance. But in addition to planning these things in advance, you should try to plan activities in advance as well. If you go to a popular area for your tropical location, you might find that many activities around the area fill up quickly. By planning in advance and booking these things early, you will be able to get much better deals, and you can ensure that you get to do all you want to do!

You can have a fun, relaxing, tropical vacation - away from it all - when you plan your tropical vacation following these tips!

Growing Tomatoes

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Tomatoes that are store bought never seem to compare to those that are home grown. If you have never tried a homegrown tomato, you don’t know what you are missing. The flavor is rich and sweet and the texture is very smooth. No matter the amount of space you have, you can easily grow tomatoes at home. If you have enough room to fit a large pot on your patio or have some spare room in your garden, you could easily have some very sweet tomatoes growing.

Guide to growing organic tomatoes is a great book to purchase to learn the ins and outs of tomato growing. It covers some great tips like pinching off the side shoots so that it can deposit the main nutrients into the part of the plant that contains the fruit. This helps the tomatoes grow large and rich.

Rich nutrient soil is another must for tomatoes. If your soil is poor you need to plan on adding Tomato plant food. This helps to provide what your tomatoes need for growing. You want to get a ratio high in potassium and phosphorus such as 18-18-21 fertiziler. You may need to correct your soil after testing to achieve a 7 or neutral pH.

A no hassle alternative to traditional gardening, would be container gardening. The bonus here is you can purchase container garden and trellis on wheels all in one so you don’t have the trouble of trying to figure out how to trellis your tomatoes when they get huge. Plus the wheels make is easy to move around when you need to. You can get excellent tomatoes from a container garden without a problem.

Choosing A Digital Camera

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
You probably switched to a digital camera a long time ago, but if the time has come at last for you to buy a new camera, or if you happen to be purchasing a digital camera for the first time, you need to know what to look for. Of course, depending on exactly how you plan to use your camera, the specifics of what you need can vary. You need to find a compact, sturdy, easy-to-carry camera if you are wanting something you can use to snap pictures of your family and friends. If you want to begin dabbling in photography as a hobby, you might want to look into higher-end options. But no matter how you plan to put your new camera to use, there are a number of things you need to keep in mind across the board.

First off, know what sort of zoom you will be getting with your new camera, and know what sort of zoom you will need. When you look at cameras, you will see the labels "optical zoom" and "digital zoom"; optical zoom is "real" zoom, while digital zoom begins to sacrifice picture quality in order get in closer, by digitally enhancing the target. Think about whether you will want to zoom in on targets from far away, and make your purchase accordingly; if you will want to use your zoom liberally, avoid those cameras that balance low optical zoom with high digital zoom.

Secondly, remember that higher megapixels equate to higher quality pictures. Higher megapixels will cause a camera to cost more, but the extra price is worth it if you want to take good pictures. A few extra dollars now, spent on a camera with higher megapixels, will make you happier down the road.

Finally, pay attention to the construction of the lenses on the cameras you are looking at. With an all-glass lens, you will be able to take much better pictures than you can take with a plastic lens, and these improved pictures come with only a slight escalation in price.

As you travel through the adventures of your daily life, a good digital camera can be a wonderful, faithful companion. And by paying attention to the things that make a camera good, you can ensure that this "good companion" of yours is worth keeping around for a long time to come.

Ignoring Conflicts

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
In family situations, as well as in the workplace, there is a lot of emphasis on understanding how to resolve conflicts, and while knowing how to resolve conflicts is certainly useful – and while it is often the right way to go – there are other times when you will realize that you are in a conflict that the other person has no interest in resolving, in which case the best thing for you to do is understand how to simply ignore the conflict. Of course, discerning when you should resolve a conflict and when you should just ignore it can sometimes be difficult, but the more time you spend around someone – at home, or at work – the more readily you will be able to determine whether you should resolve the conflict or simply walk away from it.

When it comes to ignoring conflicts, the first step to take is being able to identify when you should ignore a conflict; one clear indication of times when you should ignore conflicts is when the person with whom you are having the conflict appears to be on the “war path” – that is, when they seem to simply be looking for an argument for no reason at all.

Once you have determined that the situation is ripe for ignoring the conflict, you should train yourself to simply walk away from the conflict without making a big show; although it can be more natural to say something like, “that's it, I'm just walking away,” all this will really do is open the conflict further – which is why you should simply walk away without making any show at all.

And one thing that can be difficult about simply ignoring a conflict in this way is that the person walking away will feel like the conflict was never resolved; but realize that oftentimes when someone is simply on the war path, they will not even realize the frustrations they have planted in others, so wait for their bad mood to blow over, and everything will be magically patched up again!

How To Make Your Weeks Feel Like The Weekend

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It can be easy for your whole week to feel like it is spent trying to get you to the weekend when you work a full-time job, and then – when the weekend gets there – it is “here and gone” so quickly that you feel like it was never there at all, and it is time to return to the week once more! And while it might seem like this is an endless cycle, you should know that there is a way to stop it; if you want to keep your weeks from feeling like they drag on forever (before a weekend that quickly disappears), you need to learn how to make your weeks feel like they are the weekend.

Be aware of your free time: Because you are spending a large portion of your days during the work week actually doing work, it is easy to forget that you still have a little bit of free time; outline for yourself the hours during the day when you usually have this free time, and make yourself aware of how much time this gives you each day.

Make time for what you enjoy: Once you take a moment to seriously examine your free time, it is not unlikely for you to realize that you often use it doing things that have no redemptive value – things such as watching television, or bumbling around on the internet; when you make yourself aware of this lost free time, however, you can decide to use this time for things you truly enjoy.

Look toward that day: A large part of the reason why people fail to truly enjoy the weekdays is because they spend so much time looking toward the weekend; when you replace this mindset with one that decides to “look forward to that day,” however, you will find that your weekdays are a whole lot more enjoyable!

It is actually very easy for you to make your weekdays feel like the weekend; all you have to do is follow these simple steps, and your weekdays will be full of things you enjoy, instead of just being full of “looking toward the weekend!"

Tips For Booking The Right Venue For Your Wedding

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Booking the venue is one of the biggest steps you will take if you are a bride-to-be who is in the middle of planning your wedding - and if you are at this step, you should realize that one of the big mistakes people tend to make is booking what they view as the "perfect" venue without recognizing the things that determine what is the "perfect" venue for them. For each person, the "perfect" venue will be something slightly different, so keep these three considerations in mind when you are trying to decide what is the right venue for you.

Outdoor weddings: A lot of people are set on the idea of having an outdoor wedding, but they do not stop to consider what the weather is likely to be like on their wedding date; the last thing you want is an outdoor wedding on an oppressively hot day, so make sure - for the sake of you and your guests - that you do not plan an outdoor wedding during summer months.

Know your theme: Another mistake a lot of brides make is that they simply book a venue based on the way it looks; if you want to have a lot of people at your wedding, or if you want to have dancing at your wedding, or if you want the reception to have a certain flow to it, you need to also make sure you are picking a venue that will work for this vision!

Know your personal style: Your "personal style" will be unique to you, and while you will have to turn the venue into something that fits your style no matter where you choose to go, some places will be much easier to mold to your style than others.

There are a lot of things to keep in mind when planning a wedding, and there are a lot of headaches that can be involved, but when you keep these three considerations in mind, booking the right venue can come off your plate, and it will not have to be one of these headaches!

Refinishing Your Kitchen Cabinets

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you want to update your kitchen for a relatively low price, you should consider refinishing your kitchen cabinets. The steps to refinish your cabinets are fairly easy and with a little time and patience anyone can do it. The main cost you will have is getting the tools to do the job, and then the time you spend doing the work. The first thing you must do, is remove your doors and any hardware that is on them.

You will have to decide if you want to use a chemical stripper or sand off your old stain. If you use a stripper, you will want to pick one that is environmentally safe, because you will be using this inside of your house. One such paint stripper is soygel. If you choose to sand instead of using a chemical, use a soft sanding block with medium grit to remove the urethane and stain.

Once you have that removed, sand it gently with a fine sandpaper and finish with a very fine steel wool. Make sure to wipe down your cabinets with a lint free cloth to remove any left over wood dust. Now you can have fun and start applying the stain. I like to use an old rag and apply the stain, however some prefer to use a brush. This is up to personal preference so it is up to you. You will have to choose if you prefer a water based stain or an oil based stain. Both of them have advantages and disadvantages.

The final step is applying either a urethane or polyurethane to seal and protect your newly finished woodwork. Make sure you allow the urethane time to dry between applications. A great resource if you want more information about this process is Understanding Wood Finishing.

Learning About The People Who Inspire You

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the best resources anyone can have in their life is the people who inspire them, but while many people see those who inspire them as something distant and even foreign, it is those who learn how to learn from the people who inspire them that will make the greatest advancements in life, and will eventually reach that same level themselves.

After you have figured out the people who tend to leave you feeling inspired – whether it is because of their work, their creative output, or just their life in general – it will be beneficial for you to find out about their past and their history from things that others have written about them; you can usually find this information through biographies or even through articles, gaining someone else's perspective on this person who inspires you.

On top of trying to ingest the thoughts others have presented on the subject of this person who inspires you, you should also search out articles that this person has written on their own, as finding such articles will allow you to witness their organized thoughts; by seeing their organized thoughts in print, you will be able to better understand how they think and how they see the world.

And on top of exploring this person's organized thoughts, you should also make an effort to explore their unorganized thoughts; the best way to get a feel for a person's unorganized, spontaneous thoughts is by watching interviews with them, and while - years ago - watching an interview with someone used to require being there as the interview was conducted, with the widespread use of YouTube, you will now often be able to find videos of interviews with those who inspire you.

When it comes down to it in the long run, you will be carving out your own path through life, but as you take pointers from those who inspire you, you will be constantly helping yourself to reach the levels you want to reach!

Steps To Getting Your Book Published

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have taken the time to write a book, you have probably felt thrilled with your accomplishment upon finishing. But after the thrill has worn off, it is time to move onto that troubling next step: How do I get this book published? And even though the road ahead of you might seem long, the good news is that there is a road, and you can follow this guide to know exactly where to go.

The first thing you need to do, in order to get your book published, is edit your book, not just looking for spelling and grammar, but for everything! Even though your book will be edited before it is published, your personal editing will be important for getting the book published. The test for knowing whether you have edited your book enough is to ask yourself whether you would feel comfortable with the book going into bookstores exactly as it is in its current state.

It is time to move onto the most difficult step of all after you finish editing your book: you need to find an agent. Literary agents are the barrier between writers and publishers, so publishers can know that anything they are looking at has already been approved by an agent. But agents also act as the moneymaker, negotiating your contracts and trying to make you as much money as possible.

Once you have an agent, they will begin to submit your book to publishers, during which time you should be doing what you can to build a readership online. If all goes well, you will have a good-sized readership built and ready to read your book by the time you sign a publishing deal.

Publishing a book is a long, arduous process, as it can take months to get an agent, months to get a publishing deal, and a couple years before the book is published! But if you have the patience, and if things fall into place, you will be rewarded greatly! The main thing, when pursuing publication for your book, is to keep plugging away, making sure you are doing everything you possibly can to get your book out there.

The Benefit of a 3D Projection System

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you would rather enjoy your entertainment at home then you should look into having a projector installed. A projector system can recreate the experience of being at a movie theatre inside the comfort of your own home. You can have your own little theatre in your house if you have a room that you can devote to only housing the projector system and some chairs. The popularity of 3d technology has begun to spawn a new line of 3d projectors in today's environment.

The ViewSonic Lumens XGA DLP Projector is one of these projectors with built in 3d technology. In order to take advantage of this technology you will need a few different items to pair with the projector. 3d glasses is an essential and easy one to pick up. 3d movies at the theatre often provide you with a pair to take home so you may already have a pair. Then you will need to have a 3d capable movie player. The best bet of all the media players may be the blu-ray machines that have the technology.

The last thing you will need is a 3d copy of media. Blu-ray discs are being made every day containing TV shows and movies in 3d. Amazing 3d quality is available thanks to DLP technology inside this projector and you can enjoy it once you have all of the pieces listed above. DLP is a technology that has been around for a few years and is constantly being improved. It can provide you with vibrant colors and images that are as clear as reality.

Adequate distance from the screen is needed when setting up your projector so be sure that you are setting it up appropriately. The images will be distorted and in poor quality if the projector is too close to the screen itself. In order to make sure that you are setting the projector up for great quality use the many charts available on line. They will ensure that you are getting the most out of your projector.

Making A Delicious Breakfast Burrito

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It is always great to be on the lookout for that "next delicious meal," but sometimes, it can seem as though you have run out of ideas; if you have ever felt stuck with what you can prepare for yourself next, one idea to keep in mind is this delicious breakfast burrito - which you can make at any time of day! You will need a number of different ingredients to make this specific breakfast burrito - but chances are, you probably have most of them in your house already: eggs, cheese, meat (either chicken or steak), peppers, yellow onions, salsa, and flour tortillas.

The first step to making this breakfast burrito is to prepare the meat - and if you prepare a whole lot of it at once, you will be able to save some in a tupperware for later use; heat up some oil in a frying pan and add the onions, frying them until they are brown, then add the meat, and when the meat is nearly finished cooking, add the diced-up peppers.

You can make your breakfast burrito whenever you want now that the meat is all ready to go; toss the meat mix into a frying pan and crack a couple eggs over it, then scramble it all together - and when this mix of onions, peppers, meat, and eggs are almost finished, add a couple spoonfuls of salsa to the pan and mix everything together.

Pile this food into the middle of the flour tortilla, sprinkle your cheese on top of it, and fold it up like a burrito, but don't eat it yet; add a bit more oil to the pan, and once the oil is hot, place the burrito in the pan and fry it up on both sides, until the tortilla is brown and crispy. At this point, you will have a delicious breakfast burrito on your plate, and the only steps left will be for you to let the burrito cool, and then for you to enjoy eating the burrito!

Bike Tool Must Haves

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are planning a longer bike ride, you really should make sure to have some basic things packed with you on your bike. These tools which are must haves, can really save the day when you have trouble on the road. Most are easily stored in a jersey pocket in a case, or even attach to the frame of your bike.

One of your biggest enemies is getting a flat tire. This is inconvenient to deal with especially if you don’t have the right equipment. The first thing you must have a tire changing tool and patch kit if you don’t plan on packing a spare tube on your bike. This tool alows you to easily remove the tire from the rim, allowing you acces to the tube. If you can find the leak you can fix it with the patching kit. This may be a bit tricky though so it is almost always advisable to carry your own spare tube.

Next you must make sure you have a way to pump back up your tube once you get your tire and rim put back together. The Topeak pocket rocket bike pump is a favorite by a number of riders.

This is a lightweight aluminum pump, which is not lacking in ability to get a high pressure in your tire. The pump is small in size and can easily be attached to the bike. Another great option over a traditional pump is a CO2 inflator bike pump.

These use CO2 cartrages to quickly fill your tube with air. What is nice about these is they fit into a pocket or a seat bag very easily.

When you need to do minor adjustments or tuning on the road, it is highly suggested to get a multitool. For example the top peak allen II is a great tool to consider. It is important to make sure you have at least some basic tools when you are on the road to help keep you out of trouble.

Visiting Chicago's Shedd Aquarium

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are planning a trip to Chicago this summer, one of the areas you are sure to spend time around is Lake Shore Drive, which runs along the waterfront of Lake Michigan - and as you are spending time on Lake Shore Drive, one of the places you will probably stop by is the museum district. Make sure you budget in some time to spend at Shedd Aquarium, which is one of the most popular (and most highly-regarded) aquariums in the world while you are in the museum district!

You should set aside at least half a day for enjoying Shedd Aquarium in order to get the full effect, and if you have children, you might want to have a little more time than this, as they are likely going to want to linger in a number of different areas.

Shedd Aquarium has a wonderful program and map that you can get at the front desk when you go, which lists all the different areas of the aquarium as well as all the different shows "talks" that will take place throughout the day. The experts who conduct the "talks" at Shedd Aquarium are a treasure trove of knowledge, and not only will you learn a lot by listening to them, but you are sure to also come up with plenty of questions - all of which the expert is sure to be able to answer!

In addition to the main reef tank in the center of the aquarium that is full of all sorts of awesome fish, Shedd Aquarium has a world-renowned shark display, several beautiful beluga whales, and a great collection of dolphins (the latter two of whom you can see from both above the water and from a glass front under the water!).

Shedd Aquarium is sure to give you everything you could want in an aquarium if you are an aquarium lover; but even if you are not an aquarium lover, you will certainly have a great time visiting Shedd and seeing all the beautiful animals.

How To Fight Fevers In Children.

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It is always never racking when your child is young and running a very high fever. As a mother you can begin to feel really helpless when you child is sick. There are a few things you can do to lower you childs temperature.

Fevers, believe it or not, are a good thing. This is how your body naturally fights of an infection. It is best, when your child is handling the fever, to let it run it's course. Even as high as 102 may not be a problem if the child is comfortable. There are times, however, that you will want to get the fever dropped to a more tolerable level.

Once the fever goes over 102, you should start taking action to get it dropped. Taking childrens Tylenol is a good way to begin reducing a fever. To help get a more accurate dosage with tylenol, make sure to go off your childs weight not their age. Many pediatricians recommend only using Tylenol when a child has a fever because of the risk of Reyes disease.

Keeping your child hydrated is number one. When your children are sick it is more important to keep them drinking clear liquids like water over eatting food. If you can get your child to drink water you can try alternatives like pedialite or pediasure. Pedialyte freeze pops were some of my children's favorites. This is a great way to get fluids in without the fight.

Taking a warm (not hot) bath can also help to drop your child’s temperature down. You don’t want to drop their temperature too low and make them chilled. You can then wrap them up in very light cloths. Overbundling can make your childs temperature higher.

You can use a a temporal thermometer or a noncontact thermometer when your child is sleeping to keep an eye on their temperature.

These thermometers can help to minimize how much much of your child's sleep you disrupt.

Throwing An Oscar Party

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you and your friends are big fans of movies, an Oscar party is one way that will be especially fun for all of you to hang out together; of course, the basic premise of an Oscar party will be that all of you come together to watch the awards show, which will allow all of you to watch it together instead of all of you watching it alone, but when you know a few specific things you can do to make an Oscar party more fun, it will be more than just a chance for all of you to watch a show together - it will also be a blast!

One thing that a lot of people find to be fun if they are going to have an Oscar party is for the party to be themed; have everyone dress up like characters from a movie that has been nominated this year, or even have everyone dress up like characters from past winners, and you will be able to give everyone something fun that they can participate in, instead of just giving them a television on which they can watch the awards show.

You should also pass out cards at the beginning of the night that include a listing of all the nominations in all the major categories (or if you want to get really serious, that includes all the nominations in every category!), and should then allow each person to pick who they think the winners will be; you can count each correct guess as a point, or you can devise a weighted point system that gives more points for more important categories, and the person with the most points at the end of the night can be awarded with a prize of their own!

And if you want to get together with your friends before the party itself, one thing that can be a lot of fun is to have a day a week or so in advance during which you and your friends watch some of the nominated movies together!

Of course, providing good food for everyone is a must - just as you would do for any party - but all these extras are the things that will really make your Oscar party fun, and that will make it a memory everyone talks about for a long time to come.

How To Pay Your Traffic Ticket

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Okay, so you got a traffic ticket. Maybe you were lost and didn't know what the speed limit was, and you got a ticket for speeding. Maybe you got stuck with an expired tags ticket because the DMV never sent you that notification they're supposed to send. Heck, maybe you were just plain late for work and you were speeding on purpose. Regardless of how or why you got your ticket, the city expects you to pay it. Some people think they can pay their ticket "when they get around to it." If you are considering this strategy, think again! Your life can become extremely complicated if you pay your ticket late: the fine can go up, they can suspend your license so you have to pay to reinstate it, and they can (and will) even issue a warrant for your arrest. Instead of complicating your life like this, just pay your ticket on time or early - it is very easy to do!

Paying early by mail: In most cities, the payment must have been made by the date on which the ticket is due. This does not mean that your letter needs to be postmarked by that date; it means that the letter has to have reached them, and the check or money order must have cleared! Don't end up with a late payment penalty by neglecting these facts.

Paying early by other means: Some cities provide a drop box at the courthouse, so that you can pay fines any time of day, without waiting in any lines at all. This is an easy way to pay, as is a "pay online" option. While not all cities allow online payments, check and see what the case is for your city. If they offer "pay online" as an option, paying your ticket is no more difficult than buying a new shirt online.

Paying at court: If you have delayed too long to pay by any other means, go to court on the date and time when it is held for your particular ticket. If your name sits near the back end of the alphabet, make sure you bring a book along! You might be there for quite a while, as the courtroom is likely to be full. You can pay your ticket once they have finally called your name and you have pled guilty to the traffic violation.

It is never any fun to get a traffic ticket, and it is even less fun to pay your traffic ticket. But make sure you take the time and effort to actually pay your ticket; otherwise, the "less fun" of the ticket itself will be the least of your worries.

Getting More Out Of Your Commute

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
A lot of people find it to be rather annoying that their daily commute takes so much time out of their day, but because of the fact that this is a necessary evil in order for them to make a living, they often think nothing of it (except for those times when they find themselves complaining!), but one thing you should realize is that your commute does not have to be a waste of time - and here are a few things you can do in order to make this the case.

Learn on the drive: There are a lot of ways by which you can learn while simply listening to something; for instance, you could play a nonfiction audiobook on a subject of interest to you, or you can listen to a radio station such as NPR, or you can even pop in a language-learning audiobook to start picking up a new language!

Relax on the drive: If you have a wife/husband and children at home, a lot of your day is probably spent around noise, noise, and more noise, but your daily commute is one of the few times when you will be able to have some quiet; rather than letting this quiet go to waste, use it to have some "you" time - drinking tea, listening to a fiction audiobook, or even just enjoying the silence.

Leave early and come back late: Finally, you may want to consider leaving earlier for your job than you "have to," or coming home a bit later than is necessary; if you have a job that is flexible in this way - requiring you to simply get 40 hours in, but allowing you to do this with some flexibility, you can shorten your commute time by beating rush hour traffic both ways!

Sure, you will still have to go on your commute in order to travel to and from work - but with these tips in mind, you will at least be able to make this commute a lot more enjoyable and productive!

Taking A Look At Snow Skiing Equipment To Make Sure You Have

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It might feel odd to begin your search for snow skiing gear when the summer is still blazing full of heat, but many people make the mistake of waiting until the fall to start looking for snow skiing equipment, and this puts them in a position where they are spending more money than they want to on each item – and where they are spending more money all at once than they are able to! The best way to avoid these mistakes is to start looking for snow skiing equipment right now – when you can find used equipment online at good discounts, and when you can spread your purchases out over a couple months.

Many people go straight for the outerwear when they are looking for snow skiing equipment, forgetting that the layers they wear underneath are just as important; before you worry about anything else, make sure you are getting some base layers that are lightweight and moisture wicking.

Once you have the base layers taken care of, you move onto taking care of the outerwear; again, you will want to make sure you buy stuff that is lightweight – but when it comes to outerwear, it will also be important that the lightweight purchases you make are also warm enough to take care of you on the slopes, and are waterproof enough that you don't get wet underneath.

And when it comes to buying hats and gloves, you will want to find some that are not only comfortable, but are also warm; furthermore, when it comes to gloves, make sure the gloves you buy are waterproof, as the last thing you want while skiing is hands that are soaking wet.

You will be able to accumulate your snow skiing gear over time when you start to prepare in advance – and once the winter hits, and the slopes are ready, you will be completely prepared to go out there and enjoy a day of skiing!

Tips For Building Your Blog Following

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
There are all sorts of different reasons why people will run a blog - ranging from trying to promote their work or their business to trying to make money off their blog to simply blogging to interact with others and have a bit of fun - but no matter why someone is blogging, it is a lot more fun to blog when there is actually someone reading what you put down; for this reason, it is beneficial to know what you can do to build your blog following - realizing that this is just as much a part of blogging as writing in the blog itself.

When it comes to blogging, the first thing you need to realize is that you are going to be able to do a much better job attracting an audience if you are writing about things that you enjoy writing about - but you will also need to know how to do so in such a way that readers will come your way; once you know what you enjoy writing about, figure out where this intersects with the things that people are likely to be searching for online, and this will give you what you need as far as appealing content!

You should also make an effort to be active on others' blogs as well as being active on your own; when you spend time reading blogs that others are writing - making comments on these blogs and interacting with other readers - you will be putting yourself out there for people to see, and a lot of these people who see you will migrate toward your blog as a result.

And one of the biggest keys to building a blog following is patience, as it can sometimes take a bit of time for a large audience to start coming your way on a regular basis; rather than looking at short-term results, keep your mind focused on the long-term goals you have for your blog, and this will help you to keep writing and staying the course without getting discouraged.

The more you keep these things in mind, the more you will move toward success in your blog - until you reach a point where you are surprised by just how successful your blog has become!

Woodturning can be an art form

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Working with wood can be a very relaxing hobby. Carving, in general, is an easy hobby to get into. There are other exotic things you can do with wood that can be incredibly artistic in their own right. Turning wood is an outstanding way to work with wood. This involved putting a piece of wood into a lathe  which spins the wood at a high rate of speed. You then use special heavy-duty wood carving chisels.

You can use woodturning to create bowls out of burls from trees, and plates, or you can go a different route and create spindles for railings and furniture. Using a lathe there is a wide range of things you can create. Another popular things lately has been to create pens  from beautiful and exotic woods.

Learning this craft can take a lot of time and patience. You not only need to learn how to control your lathe but you also have to learn to control your chisels to get the pattern you desire. There are plenty of good books for resources on learning different insites to turning wood. Furthermore many woodworking stores offer classes on how to turn wood, and I would not be surprised if you could not find a class through your local university system.

Woodturning can create not only great works of art in the medium of wood, but also many functional items. People have been making baby rattles and ornaments for many years. The options are really only limited by your imagination, the tools you have to work with and the quality an size of wood you have at your disposal. A seasoned woodworker can find working with wood almost Zen like. Don’t be frustrated if you are just starting out, that Zen feeling is right around the corner.

Tips For Sleeping Comfortably When Camping

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Even for those who love camping, one thing that tends to give them some problems is sleeping at night - after all, the hard ground and the outdoor elements are not exactly conducive to a good night of sleep, but a poor night of sleep is not exactly conducive to helping you have fun the next day! If your camping trip is stretching over only a couple days, you should be able to survive a night or two of poor sleep, but not only will it feel much better to get good sleep on even a short trip, but it will especially feel great to get good sleep on a long camping trip.

Water is one thing that will certainly be detrimental to a potential good night of sleep; a lot of people make an assumption that if the weather report shows clear weather, they do not have to worry about water, but you will want to make sure you pick a spot that will not send water your way if it does happen to rain, and you will especially want to make sure the roof of your tent is truly waterproof so that you are not getting soaked while you try to sleep.

Making sure you are not sleeping directly on the ground will be another big thing; if you are camping at a campsite that you can drive up to, an air mattress is a great way to go, and otherwise, consider using a foam mattress that will be easy to bring with you wherever you go.

And finally, realize that the best way to get sleep when you are camping is to go to bed when you are tired; if you try to go to bed before you are tired, you could be stuck tossing and turning all night, and if you wait too long after you are tired, your body might have already tried to start waking you up again. Getting a good night of sleep when you are camping is not difficult to do, as long as you make sure you are following these simple tips to take the right approach.

Kids with Fish

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Fish can be a fun addition for your child's room. Having a fish tank can be a great way to teach them some responsibility as well. A small 5 gallon tank is good size to start your kids out with.

This can be a great size to keep a beta in. A thirty gallon tank is needed if you are looking for schooling fish.

When setting up a large tank you need to run a back filter rated for a 30 gallon tank.

You can't over filter, so going with a filter over rated for your tank can be good. If you are keeping tropical fish you will need to invest in a tank heater rated for 30 gallons.

Tropical fish need to have water a bit warmer than room temperature.

So what fish do you think you should keep? Kids definiately love fish that are brightly colored. Most people naturally think about gold fish. Unfortunately gold fish require much larger tank because they are such messy fish. Harlequin rasboras or cardinal tetras might be a better choice. You can keep about seven of these each, very nicely. Adding a few cory cat fish can be done as well, as they work great with schooling fish.

Another fun option would be to get five tiger barbs, five albino tiger barbs, and five moss barbs. These fish are more aggresive, but they are schooling fish. These fish like to nip fins, so they should't be kept with other fish.

The kids really enjoy having fish in their own rooms because they are able to be resonsible for them. Plus the white noise from the water falling helps your kids to sleep a bit better.
