Finally, pay attention to the little things throughout the day; be ready to adjust your plans based on what you perceive to be your significant other's desires, and try to do what you can to make every aspect of the day absolutely meaningful and special. Planning a day like this every weekend is not necessary - but when you surprise your significant other with a day devoted to them every once in a while, it will go a long way in making them feel special, and it will go a long way in keeping your relationship fresh and fun!

Many high school and college students make one major mistake during the summer, however: They forget that their mind is among their most valuable assets, and that they should still make sure they are doing what they can to keep their mind sharp during the summer! Reading: Reading is one great way to keep your mind sharp during the summer; if you enjoy lounging outside and relaxing during the day, you might find that reading is a great sidekick; if you have an area of interest, try some non-fiction books in that area; if you usually watch television in the evenings, let a book entertain you instead! Television: As for television - depending on what you choose to watch - it can function as either something that allows you to shut off your brain for several hours, or as something that sharpens your brain; there are plenty of educational (and enjoyable!) shows on television that you should consider becoming a fan of. Games: An excellent way to keep your mind engaged during the summer is by finding some games that function as "brain exercisers" and that you also enjoy. There are a lot of people who simply engage in creative activity (such as painting, making music, or writing) for the pure fun of it – but for every one of these such persons, there is another person who has a dream of engaging in such creative activity as a full-time "job." One of the problems with this, of course, is that most of the stories you hear or read of people who make a living in the arts details the amount of time these people put in before meeting their breakthrough, and in examining your own life, it can certainly seem like there is no way for you to find this kind of time in your own schedule. If you are unmarried, it will be much easier for you to make the necessary adjustments to move toward a profession in the arts, but if you are married, you will first have to make sure you discuss this move with your spouse; after all, you can still work full-time while moving toward a profession in the arts, but you will not have much free time on top of your job and your creative practice! Once you have established that you (or you and your spouse) feel comfortable with you using your free time for a couple years to chase this dream, you will need to make sure you commit to yourself to not let up or get discouraged – as you will undoubtedly have opportunities to get discouraged, and you will have to chase this discouragement away. You can take the most important step of all after you have taken these first two steps: start saving up your vacation days, and pick a two week (or better yet, a month-long!) span during which you can hide yourself away from the world, work on your creative output, and see what happens! Some people are undoubtedly not destined to make their living in the arts, but until you take these steps to chase this dream yourself, you will never know whether you are or not!
