Some Toy Ideas for Children Ages 7 to 10

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It can be hard to select just the right gift for the children in our lives. You do want to get something the child will like whether it is a niece or a nephew, or a son or a daughter. There are many great gifts out there.  Some are classics and some are a bit out of the box. Here are some ideas of gifts that would work for kids around the ages of seven to ten.

Lego’s are a great present for either a boy or a girl. There are different themes such as start wars or castles among many others. Lego’s are great because they encourage creativity, imagination, and building skills. Kids will sit for long periods of time first building with the Lego’s and then spend more time pretending with what they made. Kids who are creative love these!

Kids will also stay busy for hours with a simple wooden game called Labyrinth. This is a maze where you try to move an marble around pitfalls and around wooden walls to get to the end. Hand eye coordination and patience is a must for this game. Adults will also be drawn into this game also. This is great for those kids who love to put together and solve puzzles.

If the child in your life is an inquisitive one you could consider getting them a microscope.

Buying a Microscope is a great present for those inquisitive kids. Though this may seem like a strange gift at first.  Many kids love to explore their world. Kids love to see things in a new light. When put under a microscope even salt and sugar can become things of wonder. Parents may need to assist younger children with a microscope, but this can become a bonding experience for both of you. This is for the kid who asks why to everything.

Try to take a look at the personality of the child you are purchasing a gift for.  You may find a non traditional gift is perfect for them. These are inexpensive and can become cherished toys.

Things To See While Taking A Summer Vacation To Colorado

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When people think of vacationing in Colorado, the first thing that usually comes to mind is snow skiing - and for good reason, as Colorado truly offers the best skiing opportunities in the United States - but winter skiing is not the only reason to visit Colorado, and actually, the summer offers plenty of great reasons to visit Colorado as well. If you are thinking you might be interested in taking a trip to Colorado this summer (or if you are already planning a trip to Colorado this summer!), there will certainly be no shortage of things to do and see, but as you embark upon your adventure, here are a few ideas for you to keep in mind.

One of the richest and most beautiful national parks in the country is also one of the most under-publicized; while Yellowstone and Yosemite certainly deserve the attention they get, Rocky Mountain National Park should not be forgotten - and if you plan to take a trip to Colorado during the summer, Rocky Mountain National Park should also not be missed!

In Colorado, there are plenty of rustic, well-preserved mountain towns that are a real treat to see, but if you go to Colorado during the winter, most of these towns will be inaccessible to casual travelers; the pleasant summer months, on the other hand, are the perfect time for you to travel up into the mountains and explore some of these jewels that are hidden high up in the Rockies.

And you will not feel that your trip to Colorado is complete, of course, until you visit Denver; there are lots of things to see and do in Denver, but a couple of the best options during a lovely summer day are perusing the 16th Street Mall and catching a Colorado Rockies baseball game in the evening.

You will be hard-pressed to have a bad vacation when you are taking a summer trip to Colorado, but if you are looking for a starting point for your trip, these ideas will be sure to get you started on the right foot!

Keeping Your Dishwasher In Good Shape

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When your dishwasher is running well, you are unlikely to think about this, but truly, your dishwasher is one of your most useful appliances. Sure, you could wash your dishes by hand each night, but in so doing, you will take up a lot of counter space and a lot of time! With a properly working dishwasher, on the other hand, you need only load the dishes, add detergent, and press "Start." But you should also make sure you know how to maintain this useful appliance if you want it to remain as useful as it is supposed to be!

Leaving far too much food on the plates before loading them into the dishwasher is one of the biggest mistakes people make with their dishwasher. If you have a newer dishwasher, this might seem like it is no big deal, as the plates and silverware are still coming out clean. But over time, you wear down your dishwasher when you leave too much food on the dishes, and you dishwasher will cease to be as effective. What's more, the little tubes in the dishwasher will get blocked up, and you will either have to get in there yourself to clean them out, or you will need to call someone to come do it for you!

Another important element when it comes to keeping your dishwasher in good shape is using a detergent that is non-abrasive. While it might seem like a pain to shell out the extra money for the "good" detergent, it will be worth it in the long run!

People also often make the mistake of loading their dishwasher with far too many dishes; not only does this keep the dishwasher from doing its job well, but it can also overtax it! Make sure you load the dishes so they fit in there well; it is better to run two loads than to ruin your dishwasher.

Finally, make sure you check all the working parts regularly to make sure they are, in fact, still working parts! It is not difficult to keep your dishwasher in good shape; you will save yourself a lot of money and a lot of headaches if you simply follow these few pieces of advice.

Giving Your Room A Thorough Cleaning

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When it comes time to clean your bedroom, there are two types of cleaning: the "surface cleaning," which is what most people do (and then wonder - a week or two later - how things got so messy again) and the "down and dirty cleaning," which will take care of the mess in your room for a long time! If you want to truly get your room clean - to a point where you can be happy with the way it looks, and where it almost feels like you live in a new room - you will want to follow these three simple steps.

When you dive into the first step of this thorough cleaning of your room, it will actually cause your room to look like it is even more cluttered and messy than it was before, as the first step is that you dig out all the clutter that is hiding in drawers, closets, shelves, and corners, and that you throw away anything from this mess that you do not actually need!

Once you have thrown away all the accumulated "nothingness" that has found nooks and crannies in your room over the years, you can start to clean up the clutter that you have created; in order for this portion of your cleaning to be successful, you will need to make sure you are putting everything back in a neat and organized manner, and are not simply creating a new, hidden mess you will have to deal with later.

Once you have your trash bags full of all the things you are getting rid of and have put back everything that you took out, you can take on the final, surface task of dusting and vacuuming; take the time to dust and vacuum right, also - getting every surface and every bit of floor space clean.

It may require a small pile of time and effort in order for you to complete this task, but once you have completed it, you will feel extremely refreshed, and it will be a long time before you have to give your room such a thorough cleaning again!

Tips For Making Money As A Valet

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When you work as a valet, you can find that you either make really good money, or that the money you are making is not really so good at all. Of course, the money you make will be dependent on your tips, and this is why the money you make can vary so wildly. But while it might seem like your tips depend on a number of things that are outside of your control, there are things you can do yourself to get the tips you want. By following these three simple tips, you will find that your tips are consistently coming in at a much higher level than before.

Get to know names: No matter where you work as a valet - regardless of whether it is at a country club, a restaurant, or somewhere else - you will start to see the same people again and again. People always appreciate a personal touch when they are using a service that is over and above the norm; if you are able to remember the names of those customers who show up again and again, you will give them this personal touch. What's more, they will start to remember your face when you remember their name - and this translates to extra money in tips!

Do what is expected of you: There are many valets who do not do the things that are expected of them, which is why this is worth pointing out. These valets make poor money in tips because they do not hustle and they are sloppy with their work.

Do more than what is expected of you: In addition to doing all the things that are expected of you, you ought to do what you can to go over and above expectations as well. Make sure the people see you hustling; if you have time, clean the person's windshield; and hold the door open for them, closing it once they are in their car. These regular customers wil notice the extra effort you are making when you do these things, and you will be rewarded accordingly.

If you follow these tips, you will be able to watch the money roll in, and you will find that it is not difficult at all to make good money as a valet attendant.

Finding Good Books To Read To Your Children

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Just about every parent has a desire for their children to grow into intelligent and capable adults, but one of the things that some parents fail to realize is that you can help your children to become these things from an early age - and one of the best ways to help your children in this is to get them interested in reading; when your children read, they will be opening up their creativity, and will be exercising their mind - and when you read to your children from an early point, you will increase the chances of them enjoying reading themselves.

One thing you should keep your eyes open for, when you are looking for books to read to your children, is series of books, as children will get absorbed in a story much more easily when there are more books than just the one they are reading - and when it comes to series that are great for children, there is very little that tops The Chronicles of Narnia; this series is easy for children to understand, is adventurous enough to hold their interest, and is good enough that you will enjoy reading it as well.

Another series that is similar to The Chronicles of Narnia, but that runs a bit more along the lines of "sci fi" than along the lines of fantasy (and that is a bit simpler!) is the Wrinkle in Time books, but Madeline L'Engle; these books are not quite as swashbucklingly adventurous as The Chronicles of Narnia, but they are entertaining and highly enjoyable nonetheless.

And if your children do not necessarily need blatant adventure in order to enjoy a book, you should consider the Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Wilder; this series of books is perfect for children, as they will be able to learn about life the way it was when America was first opening up, while also having the chance to get caught up in an absorbing and fascinating series of stories.

The more often you read to your children, the greater their interest in reading will be - and when you are able to find series that are enjoyable for you to read and fun for your children to listen to, it will be that much easier for you to read to your children as often as you should.

GPS Navigation for Those on The Water

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
A new technology that is very popular in the world of electronics are global positioning systems. The most common place to find GPS devices are usually in cars. You can drive anywhere in the world and still enjoy rather easy navigation any place you go. Since GPS technology has come out, there have been those trying to apply it in many different ways. GPS technology is being used in marine applications now, which is relatively new. The traditional methods of navigation in the marine world are sonar and radar which are very poor compared to GPS.

One of the top names in GPS systems over the years has been Garmin and they are also a top name in marine GPS equipment. Their 78sc Waterproof Marine GPS and Chart plotter is very impressive. Never before has their been the ability to chart and navigate bodies of water like this. In the past anglers or sailors had to rely on radar and sonar systems to navigate the water. Now GPS technology allows them to much more effectively and accurately plot the water they are traveling on.

There are also many ancillary features that are very useful. One of the best is the Chart plotter’s ability to stay afloat. If for some reason the device falls in the water this feature allows it to be picked out easily. All of your maps can be stored on the device and even more storage space is provided with a micro SD slot. If any of your equipment or people fall overboard you can strike one button on the GPS to mark the spot. This then marks that point and allows you to navigate right back to it for retrieval.

Overall the Garmin 78sc is one of the best marine GPS available. Every time the device is used you will realize the advantage of having a tool so accurate. Whether you are fishing recreationally or sailing the world’s oceans, this GPS will provide quick and accurate navigation. Travelling over water can be very dangerous and disorientating, so make sure you stay on track with a GPS.
