The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Nowadays, many people read their books on e-book readers, which makes the question of “how to take care of books” null and void, but there are many other people who cannot imagine making the switch to e-books, as they simply enjoy the feel of a book in their hands far too much. If you consider yourself to be such a person, it will be extremely important that you know what you should do in order to keep your books in good shape – and of course, it will also be extremely important that you follow these things as well! Many people do not realize how bad heat and humidity can be for the binding of a book, but rather than learning the hard way (that is, learning by experiencing it on your own!), understand that the combination of heat and humidity can cause the binding of a book to fall apart completely, so if you are going to be reading by a pool or at the ocean, make sure you are not reading a book that you view as valuable, as it may not survive! Of course, another thing that will be important is that you keep an eye on your fingers when you are reading, as anything from dirt to spaghetti sauce can end up splattered and smudged across the pages if you are not careful, which will leave you with a book that is not nearly in as good of shape as it was when you started. And for many book lovers, it is really not all that bad if one of their books gets dirtied or even a bit beat up from how much they are enjoying the book their own self, but it is a different story altogether if a book gets dirty and beat up by someone who borrowed the book from you, so be careful with who you loan your books to – lest you get a book back that is in much worse shape than it was when you loaned it! Keep these tips in mind, and you will have no problem keeping your books in excellent shape!
