The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When you are in an office all week long, one thing that can be particularly nice on your day off is to get out into nature, and while there are a lot of ways for you to do this - immersing yourself in the outdoors for a day and allowing yourself to recharge - one of the best ways to do this is to go on a day hike. One of the problems with going on a day hike, however, is that it can be difficult at times to find hikes that will be as fulfilling for you as you would like; if you are wanting to get outdoors on your day off while the weather outside is still nice, here are a few ideas for you to keep in mind in order to ensure that your day hike is all you want it to be. Making sure that you are going to a place with a "big payoff" is the first thing you will want to do, as there is nothing too enjoyable about hiking through average scenery for a couple hours only to return to your car. Try to find a place that is well-known for the beauty of its scenery, or that has something rewarding such as a waterfall or a hot spring somewhere along the way, and you will be able to feel like all the effort of hiking is well worth it. Bringing enough snacks and water for the day will be another big key; you may not think you will need much food and water if you will just be out hiking for a few hours, but your body will likely beg to differ, as it will want to be replenished from all the work it is putting out, so realize that it is better to bring too much food and water than to not bring enough. And it will be important when you are going hiking for the day that you bring the right clothes; after all, there is nothing worse than deciding to go hiking in order to relax on your day off, only to realize that you are wearing pants that rub you the wrong way, a shirt that holds the sweat and sticks to your body, and shoes that give you blisters with every single step!
