The Best Beaches In Texas

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
While Texas is known for lots of things, one thing people do not usually associate with the state is its miles of excellent beaches. But actually, Texas has over 600 miles of shoreline, and among this 600 miles is many beautiful, quiet beaches. Furthermore, the water that washes in and out of these Texas beaches is the same water in the Gulf of Mexico that is considered so enviable in Mexico and Florida. A trip to Texas can be far less expensive than a trip to Florida or to Mexico, and depending on where you live, it can even be an easier destination to reach.

Galveston, Texas is a small island just off the coast, only a small ways from Houston; it is one of the most well-known beach areas in the state. Galveston is full of activities, sights, and events that you would expect from such a popular spot; it is also, however full of the crowds you would expect from such a popular spot. If you are looking for some peace and quiet on your vacation, you may want to look somewhere besides Galveston's resorts, hotels, and beach houses.

Another popular destination is the Corpus Christi and Padre Island area; while Corpus Christi is metropolitan, you will feel the city disappearing as you move toward Padre Island. The closeness of Corpus Christi and Padre Island allow you to escape from the world, but to stay close enough that you can spend some time in the city. For those looking for the best of both worlds, the Corpus Christi and Padre Island area is a great place to visit.

The most enviable beach in all of Texas belongs to South Padre Island, down near the Mexican border. You will certainly have a tremendous escape if you visit South Padre Island, and while it is one of the more expensive options when it comes to Texas beaches, it is well worth it if you can shell out some extra money. The beaches of South Padre Island are gorgeous and serene, and the atmosphere of the island is one of "vacation" all the way!

If you do something different this next beach vacation and visit Texas instead of your normal spots, you just might find that you have stumbled upon a gem that is just right for you.
