Information about Different Dog Collars

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Most dog owners wish to have a dog that heals nicely beside their leg. A lot of people however are not aware that their are different collars which work differently when walking a dog, and how to use each type correctly. There are generally five types of collars you can choose from such as prong, gentle leaders, harnesses, chokers, and e-collars.

Choke collars are the most commonly seen training collar for your dog. However, they should not be used to continually choke your dog. The correct way to use it is by giving a quick pop motion to bring the dogs attention to you. These collars are made from a wide range of materials including rope, chain, or a flat collar. If used correctly, most dogs will respond well to them.

However some dogs require a bit stronger cue, this is where a prong collar can come in handy. The prongs simulate a bite from another member in the pack. Make sure that it isn't done hard enough to break the skin of the dog. The collar should fit snugly and only a small amount of correction should be needed.

The strongest option available is the e-collar used as a hunting training collar. These collars can provide a simple vibration to a small electrical shock. These are a good option for those with dogs who don't respect a choke or prong collar. Some hunters use this collar when their dogs are not listening of leash while training them for bird hunting. This can work also for training dog’s obedience when done correctly. Make sure to consult with a dog trainer before taking that option.

The Gentle Leader and the Easy walk dog harness are two non traditional options. Both work on the idea that when you stop their body or their head is forced to turn, causing them to heal to your side. The dog is required to stay by your side if they want to continue walking without that pull. These techniques take patience and you have to learn how to use each harness correctly. They don’t work like a traditional collar.

Before choosing a collar for your dog you should be aware of your options. You shouldn't hesitate to try different types of collars. What works well for one dog may not work for another. Dog obedience class is also a great way to learn how to use a collar correctly.

How To Think About Your Future As You Move Through Your Present

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Many people think of the future as something that is completely unknown, and because of this, they rarely think about the future or what it will have in store for them, but this manner of thinking fails to take into account the fact that the things you do in the present will greatly affect how your future turns out, and one of the best ways to improve your future is by constantly thinking about it as you move through your present.

In order to move toward improving your future, the first thing you should do is know the goals you hope to accomplish in your future; you will often hear it said that those who write down their goals are far more likely to accomplish these goals, but one step beyond this is that those who write down their goals and take the time to read through them each day will be even more likely to see these goals accomplished!

In addition to keeping up with your goals, you should keep up with your “visions” or “dreams” for your future; one of the best ways to do this is by creating a “vision” or “dreams” tab on the Internet browser of your computer, and every so often you can go to the pages you have bookmarked, finding pictures or articles that keep your dreams alive and in the forefront of your mind.

And as you keep your goals and dreams at the forefront of your mind in this manner, you will be able to pay attention to what you are doing each day; in addition to the menial tasks you have to accomplish each day, make sure you are also doing everything you can each day to move toward these goals and dreams. These goals and dreams might appear at first to be high mountains when you look at them all at once, but when you look at them from a day-to-day perspective, you will see that all you have to do is make the most of each day, and you will constantly be moving closer and closer to the fulfillment of these goals and dreams!

Outdoor Party Game Ideas

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Summer time is a great time for cookouts and parties on your patio while hanging out in the sun. Having summer parties is part of what makes summer, summer. When having friends over, it is always great to have some outdoor games to go along with the food and beverages. There are a very wide range of games that you can consider for your next party ranging from classic horseshoes to newer bean bag games.

Croquet is a classic game that can be quite fun especially if you put into place house rules. Croquet traditionally uses mallets to maneuver balls through a course of arches. Whoever gets in the least amount of hits, wins the game.

Another great option is frizbee golf. This uses a cage basket as the “hole”. You place this in your yard and the goal is to land the frizbee in the net. If you want to make it more challenging, place the goal behind different obstacles in your yard. Frizbee golf is such a fun game, you might find yourself looking for local frizbee golf courses in your area.

Another game that is becoming classic is beanbag games. A threehole beanbag toss can be great fun in a party situation. Even kids can play these games if the boards are put closer together. The further the boards are seperated the more challenging they become. You can keep score and have door prizes for the winner of the games.

Another game that has become popular lately is Ladder golf. You toss a set of balls that are connected by a string and try to look them around a run of the ladder. Each rung has a different point value and the player with the highest score wins.

Outdoor games can really liven up your party. Go ahead and try a few games and see how the guests enjoy themselves.

Taking A Look At Notes To Keep You Going

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
For most people, when they hear “keeping notes,” their mind automatically jumps back to their days in college when they had to sit in lectures with a pen ready over an open notebook, trying to capture everything the professor said, but long after you have finished college and moved on with your life, there are still plenty of great reasons to keep notes. One of the greatest keys, if you want to achieve success in life, is finding the “little things” that help you achieve success; many people find that one of these “little things” is keeping notes, so read through some of these note-keeping ideas, and see if one (or even all of them!) would work for you.

On your mirror: keeping notes on your mirror is a great way to start your day on the right foot; whether you write these notes on index cards and tape them to your mirror or choose instead to simply write the notes on the mirror itself, leaving yourself notes of encouragement that you can read each morning as you get ready is a great way to begin each day, attacking it with the right attitude and setting yourself up for success.

In a notebook: people hear all the time that they should write down their goals, as an individual is far more likely to achieve their goals if these goals are written down, but while a lot of people take the first step of writing down their goals, they rarely take the next step of actually reading these goals; you should read through your goals every day, keeping them in a notebook or even recording an audio of them so that you can dive into your “goal notes” on a daily basis.

For others: and as you leave notes for yourself, doing what you can to lift yourself up and improve your personal life, you should also leave notes for others; even though it seems like a small thing to do, leaving a simple note for a friend or family member – either giving them encouragement, or even just letting them know they are special to you – will often give that friend or family member a huge boost for the rest of their day!

Tips For Trying To Give Up A Bad Habit

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
A "habit" is something that you do without even thinking about it, or that you do regularly whether you want to or not, and while there are certainly plenty of good habits many of us have, there are also a lot of bad habits - and because of the fact that habits are usually done without much thought being given to them, it can be especially tough to break one of these bad habits, unless you know the right steps to take in order to do so.

Identifying the habit itself is the first step to breaking a bad habit; a lot of people pay little attention to their bad habits, which puts them in a place where they have a hard time breaking them, but once you have identified a habit you want to break, you will be able to think about it consciously more often, which will help you to eventually chase this habit away.

Taking the time to identify what it is that causes this habit to crop up will also be helpful; oftentimes, there will be certain things that trigger a certain habit to show itself, and when you start to identify what these certain things are, you will be able to watch for them - which will help you see the emergence of the habit before it comes.

Once you have identified the habit and pinpointed what it is that brings up this habit, you will need to learn to compartmentalize; too many people try to break a habit all at once, looking at the big picture, and this becomes overwhelming to them, but a much better approach is to instead simply try to fight small battles - beating the habit one instance at a time, each time it crops up.

You may need to go through a long and arduous process to defeat a bad habit completely, but when you take the proper approach, it will become easier and easier over time - and finally, you will reach a point where, without even having fully realized it yourself, the habit will have disappeared, and you will be free of it for good!

Tips For Helping Your Child Transition Into School

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have a child who will be going to school for the first time this fall - or even if you have a child who will be going to a new school this fall - it can be as difficult on you as it is for your child, because you will find yourself wishing there was some way for you to be a shield for them. But although it will not be possible for you to protect them in person at the school, there are certain things that you can know about what any child will deal with when they are in a new situation such as this, and this will help you to know what you need to do in order to help them out.

A lot of parents have a tendency to want to empathize with their child's struggles, but in a situation such as this, what your child will really need is encouragement; understand, of course, that there is a fine line between "providing solutions" (which most children will not want!) and providing encouragement - which means that you should encourage them by telling them how great they are doing, but you should not try to provide instruction.

In this same vein, a lot of children simply need someone who can be a listening ear for them; when your child comes home and needs to complain about how no one likes them, or how they don't fit in, the best thing you can do is be there to listen to them!

But throughout all this time when you are simply listening and keeping your thoughts inside, realize that there will come a point where your child will ask for your help - so make sure you are storing up your thoughts and advice during this time, and when they ask for your help at last, you will be ready to give it to them.

It can be tough on a young child when they are having to transition into new surroundings, but as the parent, you can be your child's support system - and as they work through these situations, you can follow these tips to be there beside them.

Keeping Yourself Productive By Using Organization

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
More than likely, you enter each day with the intentions of being as productive as possible throughout the day. But oftentimes, you can reach the end of the day and wonder where the day went, realizing that you were not able to be productive at all! If you sometimes struggle to achieve maximum personal productivity, the best solution just might be taking the time to organize your life just a little bit.

Creating specific categories - in which you can "store" the elements of your life - is important when it comes to organizing your life to achieve maximum personal productivity. The sooner you get started coming up with definite categories, the sooner you will have categories that you feel comfortable assigning different areas of your life to. Start by figuring out exactly what you hope to achieve each day - in work, and in your own life - and come up with categories each achievement might fit into.

You will be able to refine both the categories themselves and the items that go into them as your categories become more defined. As you get into the habit of separating and defining categories, you can also establish the order of importance in which these categories fall. For instance, you might work as a lawyer, but your passion might be your family, and you might have music as your hobby. You will be better able to distinguish one element of your life from another as you separate these into specific categories of "work, passion, and hobby," with specific subheadings among these categories. In this way - as each separate category of your life arises - you will be able to focus fully on each separate category. This will allow you to focus fully on work while you are at work, and to focus fully on your family when you are with your family, and to focus fully on your hobby when it is time for you to indulge in your hobby.

You will be able to achieve maximum personal productivity as you organize your life into separate categories, and as you become aware of which category you are engaged in at any given time!

The Importance Of Sending Thank You Cards

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
For most people, when someone has done something special for them, they do not think to send a thank you card, but if you have ever received a thank you card – especially if you have received one for something that was small, something you certainly did not expect to receive a thank you card for – you certainly understand the way in which a thank you card can make an impact. No matter what you do for a living or the sorts of situations you tend to find yourself in, you should always make sure you have a full deck of thank you cards in a desk drawer so that you can take the time to send one out when the situation warrants a thank you.

The first thing a thank you card does is it goes an extra step in displaying gratitude; while a simple, verbal “Thank you” will suffice in most situations, this extra step makes your gratitude something that is more concrete in the mind of the person receiving it – something that is more “real.”

You will also set yourself apart in the mind of the person who receives the thank you card; while someone may or may not notice if you fail to send a thank you card for something small, they certainly will notice if you do send such a thank you card, as it will stand out to them as a very respectable gesture.

And not only are these positives for you a good reason to send thank you cards, but there are also positives for the person who receives the thank you card; this extra step toward expression of gratitude will make the person to whom you are sending the thank you card feel much more fulfilled for whatever it is that caused you to send them a thank you card.

Your thank you card does not need to be complicated or full of fluid words; it simply needs to thank the person in a direct and specific manner, and by taking the few seconds it takes to do this, you will make a big difference in the way you are perceived, and in the way that person feels.

Tips For Keeping Your Ideas Organized

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
There are thousands of people who come up with great ideas each day that they will never act on or remember, because they fail to capture these ideas in any way; sometimes, these ideas are as simple as something that will help them out around the house or in their family, while others of these ideas are business or innovation ideas that would help the individual in question to make money down the road. If you have a tendency to come up with great ideas all the time, it will be beneficial for you to have a method for capturing and recording ideas - and while the specifics of this approach will be different for every different person, here are a few ideas you can consider trying out yourself.

Recording ideas in a notebook is a great way to keep track of everything that comes to mind, even if this seems like a relatively "old school" approach these days; a notebook with your ideas in it will become more intimate and personal to you than a computer or phone full of ideas would, and you can simplify your approach to recording ideas in your notebook by separating your notebook into sections for each different type of idea.

Of course, if you feel more comfortable with a computer than with a notebook, this can be a great way for you to record your ideas also - and the great thing about storing things on a computer is that you can save different types of ideas in different documents, and you can easily search your computer to find anything you want.

Having a large whiteboard in your office for ideas can be hugely beneficial for you if you are more "visual" than other people; on this whiteboard, you can keep track of the progress on all your ideas, and this will enable you to see your ideas written down in front of you all the time.

When you begin to record your ideas as they come to you, you never know where this will lead, so scan these options and find the one that you feel fits best for you, then start to record your ideas in this manner and watch the effects this has!

How To Clean Your Windshield Without Streaks

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When your windshield is dirty and grimy on the outside, it is not only annoying, but can also be dangerous, as the headlights of other cars will intensify this dirt when you drive at night and make it extremely difficult for you to see! You should take the time to clean the outside of your windshield every time you stop to get gas (even if you do not think it needs to be cleaned), but while this might seem like a fairly straightforward action to take, many people fail to clean their windshields correctly, and because of this, they end up with funny streaks all across their windshield that make it nearly as bad as the dirt!

The first thing you will need to do, in order to give your windshield a seriously good and thorough cleaning, is to make sure you scrub really hard with the business end of the brush; while you are cleaning, clear off any dead bugs or any dirt splotches that are especially pesky, instead of simply hoping they will come off when you squeegee.

By the time you finish giving your windshield a seriously thorough scrubbing, a lot of the water from the first portion of the scrubbing will have begun to dry – which is one of the main things that will cause your windshield to end up with streaks – so make sure you get the brush wet again and give the windshield one more going-over.

The biggest mistake people make when cleaning their windshield at the gas station is that they never dry off the squeegee; between each pull across the windshield, you should completely dry the squeegee with a paper towel before going back across the windshield again – always overlapping the previous path of the squeegee, and using a slightly downward motion.

When you clean the outside of your windshield using this simple method, you will be able to keep dirt from sticking to it, and you will prevent the water from drying on your windshield in weird lines and splotches – and instead, you will have a perfectly clean windshield that makes driving at night a lot easier, as well as a whole lot safer!

Protecting Your Most Prized Posession

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the biggest investments you will make is your home. No other item you purchase is going to take 30 years or more to pay off. Protecting your home and your family inside is more important than anything else. Because of this idea it is a great option to install home alarm systems. They protect your family from any harm caused by intruders and protect your home from damage due to burglaries.

General Electric makes a home alarm system that is very cost effective. Often home alarm systems involve very high set up kits. They also have monthly service fees for monitoring. For most people these costs are too high to purchase. For these reasons a low priced kit for securing your home has been made by General Electric. It is also very easy to set up.

A four digit pin pad can be installed as a door alarm and is in the kit. For your windows they have included three independent alarms to be placed on them. All of the pieces included can be put up using tape or some wood working screws. Anybody can install this alarm system since it doesn't need any wires for it. Each piece of the system is powered solely by batteries.

A 120 decibel alarm will go off if someone was going to break into your home and trip it. Your neighbors will hear that their is trouble since the alarm is so loud and the intruder will be scared off. The time to get to safety and notification of danger will be essential for people in your home. When leaving and entering your home there is a time delay to help cut down on any false alarms that may be common occurances.

Don’t allow your home to go unprotected any longer. Everything you have in your life gets protected. Pre installed alarm systems are the constant for most new cars sold. Your most expensive investment should also be protected. Make sure you and your family are safe by getting a safe and cheap alarm kit from GE.

Is A Border Collie A Good Dog For Me?

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you and your family have been looking for a new dog, one dog that you might consider looking at is the border collie, as border collies are gorgeous dogs that are great with people! You should always make sure you know as much as possible about a dog, however, be fore you purchase one; if you have thought about maybe purchasing a border collie, read on to learn all the basic things you will need to know!

image

Border collies are considered to be the smartest breed of dog, which not only makes them easy to train as far as tricks go, but also makes it easy for you to keep your dog from being a "trouble maker"! One problem with border collies, however, is that this high level of intelligence causes them to get into trouble if their brain is not "exercised"; this means that you will have to regularly "work out" their brain with tricks and other obedience training, or they will get bored and start "finding things to do." These things they find to do are not things you will want them to do (examples include digging in your yard and digging through your trash), so you should make sure you take the time to teach your border collie several tricks, and you should practice these tricks with your border collie a few days each week.

Border collies are also sheep herding dogs, which means that they have a lot of energy, and just as you should work out their brains, you also need to work out their bodies; this can be accomplished by having a backyard that gives them a fair amount of running room, and by taking them to the park a few times each week.

Because of the beauty and intelligence of the border collie, they are among the most popular of all dog breeds; before you purchase a border collie, however, make sure you will be able to give them the time and attention they require, otherwise you might have something of a mess on your hands!

Exploring Masterful Authors Worth Reading

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
On a cold winter evening, one of the best ways to pass the time is to sit on the couch with a blanket wrapped around you, a cup of tea (or hot chocolate!) in hand, a fire crackling in the fireplace, and a good book keeping you company - but while choosing a blanket, preparing a cup of tea, and building a fire are quite easy, it can be a bit more difficult at times to figure out what book you should read; if you are looking for a few books that you can sample as the cold weather of winter rolls in, here are a few masterful authors whose books are always worth reading!

Novelists: If you want to spend part of your winter exploring a good, long novel, a few authors to consider are Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, and Cormac McCarthy: Hemingway is considered by most to be the father modern literature, and his works such as "The Sun Also Rises" make for great winter reading; Steinbeck wrote classics such as "The Grapes of Wrath," "East of Eden," and "Of Mice and Men," and is a lively author to dive into during the winter; and McCarthy is considered to be one of the greatest living authors, with a Pulitzer Prize for his novel "The Road" and a National Book Award for his novel "All the Pretty Horses."

Short story authors: Books of short stories are great to dive into during the winter, and three of the best short story authors are Flannery O'Connor, Richard Ford, and Raymond Carver: O'Connor's most enduring work is the collection "Everything that Rises Must Converge"; Ford's Pulitzer Prize-winning career was highlighted by his collection "Rock Springs"; and Carver, one of the most influential short story writers in history, is perhaps most well-known for his book "Cathedral."

Essayists and Poets: And you cannot go wrong with anything written by the great essayists and poets Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, and Sylvia Plath if you are looking for some great poems and essays to explore this winter.

Take a look at some of these masterful authors next time you are looking for a book to pick up, and you are sure to find something that suits your tastes!

Where To Buy Used Sports Equipment

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you shop for your sports equipment used, you will be able to save a good deal of money - regardless of whether you are shopping for your kids or just for yourself. After all, most people keep their sports equipment in great shape, and you can find tremendous deals on barely-used equipment. If you are wanting to buy some used sports equipment, you will have to know where to shop for it; here are a handful of great places to look!

Amazon: Perhaps the best place of all for shopping for used sports equipment is Amazon, because you can purchase your sports equipment from a number of reputable sellers who have thousands of seller ratings already, which allows you to buy with confidence. Additionally, when you shop on Amazon, you can compare the prices of used equipment with the price for new equipment easily in a single location.

Ebay: Of course, eBay is the place most people think of when they think of buying used items, as eBay is one of the most widely-used (and most trusted!) places on the Internet for buying used items from other people just like you. When you shop on eBay, however, there is one major problem, and it is this: Because the sellers on eBay are people "just like you," some of them will be selling you great stuff, while others will be selling you stuff that is really nothing but junk!

Play It Again Sports: When you shop for your used sports equipment online, the big problem is the fact that you cannot try on the equipment or see what condition it is in; after all, when you shop online for clothes from a store, you know you can return them if they do not fit, but this is not usually the cased with used sports equipment! Play It Again Sports, however, is a chain store with physical locations all across the country, which allows you to check the fit, and to make sure the equipment is in great shape!

When you take a look at all these different options, you should be able to figure out one that works best for you, and you will be able to save a lot of money on sports equipment!

Exploring Things To Know When Picking Up An Engagement Ring

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have gone through the process of picking out an engagement ring with your future wife (or with a friend or family member of hers who you trust to help you make the decision!) and have already made the down payment on it and ordered it, the last thing you will be thinking about when you pick up the ring at last will be all the "extra" stuff you should be keeping in mind. But even though the top thing on your mind at this point will probably be the proposal and the wedding planning that is soon to follow, you should make sure you are aware of a few important things for you to do on the day you pick up the ring as well.

Of course, the most important thing for you to do is to make sure the diamond in the ring is real; more than likely, the place where you are buying the ring will demonstrate for you that the diamond is real by using a device that measures whether or not it is real; a good way to make sure the device is accurate is by bringing a fake diamond along and asking them to test this as well (and don't worry about them getting offended - most jewelers understand, as they have people do this all the time!).

The second thing you will want to do is make sure they tell you about insurance on the ring; the jeweler where you are buying your ring probably has an insurance company that they recommend, and it will be smart to get all the information you can from them before you leave the store, including how much the insurance is likely to cost and what it will cover.

And before you walk out the door, the jeweler's policy on cleaning your ring, on warranty, and on "mishaps" should all be fully explained to you; make sure that the jeweler will clean your ring at least once per year, make sure their warranty is complete, and make sure that things such as "small diamonds falling out" are covered under the warranty as well!

Tips For Making More Money

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Plenty of people wish that they had more money (after all, who wouldn't want more money!), but far fewer people actually try to come up with ways by which they can make more money; if you have ever had a desire to have more money - and are willing to put in a bit of effort to make this desire a reality - here are a few ideas that you can keep in mind in order to get you from "here" to "there"!

Working more hours is the most obvious solution to making more money; if you have a job that allows you to work overtime, consider picking up some extra hours in this way, and if you cannot work extra hours at the job you currently have, realize that there are fun and creative ways to make extra money with another "job" - ranging from babysitting to even teaching something that you enjoy.

Not only can you get creative with the ways you can work to make extra money, but you can also get creative with the things you can sell for money; a lot of people have discovered that they are able to shop at garage sales or antique stores and sell the things they have found for more money online - so start keeping an eye out at garage sales and antique stores, and see what you can purchase before turning right around and reselling!

And actually, many people have more money than they realize, and they simply need to take a closer look at their budget to make this money available; if you have been wishing you had some extra money, look closely at your budget and try to find places where you can cut out superfluous things, and you just may find that you soon have a lot more money to work with than you had before!

Money is one of the main concerns in life for many people, and it can sometimes seem like money is far more difficult to come by than you wish it would be - but when you keep these ideas in mind, you will be setting yourself up to go in the opposite direction, turning your money situation around for good!

Taking A Look At Cichlid Tanks

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are thinking of getting an aquarium, you may have been trying to decide whether you want to get a saltwater aquarium or a freshwater aquarium, and while there are certainly a lot of positives about either of these options, there is also one more option you may want to consider; although less common than a freshwater aquarium or a saltwater aquarium, a cichlid tank is a great idea as well, as it will give you as many positives as either of the other options, while also being far more unique!

You will need to make sure you have a tank that is a minimum of 30 gallons in order to have a cichlid tank, and it would actually be preferable for your tank to be bigger, and you will need enough decorations in the tank that the cichlids will be able to mark certain spots as their territory; additionally, you will need to get a substrate that is designed for cichlid tanks, as cichlids have very specific needs when it comes to their water, and such substrates will help to maintain the proper levels in the water.

The striking picture these fish create is perhaps the biggest positive of having a cichlid tank, as they come in vivid colors and mesmerizing patters that create a beautiful symphony of colors as they all dart about your tank - but on top of how lovely they are, cichlids are also full of personality; unlike many of the fish you would add to a freshwater or saltwater tank, cichlids are known for each having a personality that is distinctly unique, which makes them much more entertaining to watch than just about any other kind of fish.

image

Of course, the fact that they are a bit more difficult to take care of than some other fish is the greatest con to owning a cichlid tank, particularly because their water needs are so specific and stringent; in addition to being high-maintenance in this way, however, cichlids are also territorial, and may create problems with one another!

If you can weather the cons of a cichlid tank, they are a great option to consider as you decide what you would like to populate your tank with, as they will give you plenty of beauty to admire, and plenty of entertainment to enjoy.

How To Catch Some Sleep While On The Road

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Staying awake can become difficult when you are taking a road trip, where you are driving long distances all at once. Although many people try to simply "push through" the tiredness, it has been proven that driving when you are extremely tired is nearly as dangerous as driving while intoxicated. Even if you only take a 30 minute nap, this can go a really long way in keeping you awake. Here are some places where you can pull over and catch some sleep when you are driving and start feeling like you are tired enough that it is putting yourself and others in danger. You might receive a knock on your window from a police officer in one of these spots, but once you explain what you are doing, they will commend you and leave you at peace.

One of the best places to get a bit of sleep is in rest stops. Rest stops, of course, vary from state to state. But in many states, rest stops are off the road and are very quiet. Keep in mind, however, that a rest stop might not be the best place for you to sleep at nighttime. Those rest stops that are secluded and quiet can become dangerous after dark. However, during the day, these are definitely good places for some sleep.

Another great place for sleep is travel plaza parking lots. These parking lots are usually large enough for you to find a quiet corner, away from all the traffic that is buzzing in and out. Kick back in your chair, make sure your alarm is set, and get some good sleep! You can sleep in a travel plaza parking lot even during the night and still be quite safe.

Finally, a great place for sleeping if you cannot find a travel plaza parking lot nearby, is parking lots for hotels. There are enough cars in such places that no one is likely to bother you, and you can sleep for a bit and get right back on the road.

It might seem like a hassle find a place and nap, but you can keep both yourself and other drivers safe, and you can feel refreshed for the next leg of your journey!

How To Score More Points In Fantasy Football

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have played fantasy football before, you surely realize that fantasy football is all about maximizing your team's potential for points, but while anyone who plays fantasy football is aware of this, many of these same people do not do the things they ought to do in order to ensure that they are taking the right approach to doing this; if you have wondered whether you are doing everything you can to maximize your team's potential for success, here are a few things you might want to look at and make sure you are keeping them in mind.

A lot of people draft their team at the beginning of the season and then pretty much do nothing else with their team for the rest of the year, but rather than being complacent and leaving your team exactly as it is, make sure you are always looking for areas of weakness on your team and for ways in which you can improve; of course, you do not want to change things just to change things, but if you feel you can improve your team, you should always take the steps to do so.

It will also be beneficial for you to make trades with other members of your league, and the best way to do this is to trade your depth for starters; look for players on someone else's team who they might be undervaluing, and try to trade a couple of your mid-level players for this one high-level players, then have a bit of patience as this player turns things around!

And take steps to ensure you are always understanding the matchups and trends that players are going to be facing and going through as a result; if a player on your team has been performing at a high level, but you feel that the matchups will soon bring them crashing back to earth, trade them to someone else, and add someone in their place who will soon be on the upswing.

As you keep these things in mind while going through your season, you will be able to constantly improve your team, and will be able to constantly increase your chances of winning!

Driving A Disc Golf Driver

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are not a competitive person, playing disc golf will be enjoyable for the simple fact that it gives you the opportunity to get outside on a pleasant afternoon, walking around and enjoying the outdoors; if you are competitive, however, part of enjoying disc golf will be actually getting (at least decently) good at it! And the biggest part of "getting good at disc golf" will be getting good at throwing your driver; throwing a disc golf driver is not difficult, but it will certainly be important for you to know what you are doing.

Holding the disc perfectly flat with your arms perfectly straight out in front of you is the first thing you need to practice; if you have ever thrown a frisbee at the beach or at the park, you have probably curled your arm into your body and then thrown it outward, but with a disc golf driver, you will get much better results (as far as both distance and accuracy) if you practice keeping your arms straight at all times.

image

Start out your throw a few steps back on the “tee,” with your throwing shoulder pointed in the direction you are hoping to throw; with the disc held flat and your arms stretched out straight, step behind your throwing leg with your non throwing leg, then use this movement to propel you forward as you fling the disc out onto the course.

Make sure you check out this perfect Beginner Disc Golf Set!

One of the big mistakes people make when trying to improve their disc golf drive is trying to throw the disc for distance before they learn how to consistently throw it straight; early on in your practice, make sure you are able to throw the disc straight every time, and once you reach this point, you can start working on using the same motion, but with more power, in order to throw the disc farther.

You will be able to consistently hit the course and play well once you start following these tips – and of course, this will cause your disc golf experience to be a whole lot more enjoyable!

Tips For Putting Together A Speech

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Being put in a position where you are going to have to give a speech is not uncommon, but because of the fact that most people have to give speeches so rarely, they never think about the steps they should take in order to write and prepare a speech. Regardless of whether you have won an award, have been asked to speak at an assembly, are the best man or maid of honor in a wedding, or are simply needing to put a few words together for a family gathering, there are a few simple rules you can keep in mind while preparing for this moment that will make things a whole lot easier on you!

One mistake a lot of people make is that they sit down and try to start writing the speech, but they do so with no clear idea of what they want to say in the speech; the first thing you should do - before you write down anything specific - is come up with an idea of the general direction you want to take the speech, and the general things you want to say.

After you have captured on paper an idea of what you are going to say in the speech, you can move onto the next step, which is putting these things into some semblance of order; work toward putting together an outline, so that by the time you finish this step, you will have a full outline that would give anyone a clear idea of what your speech is all about.

And finally, it will be important that you practice your speech; but don't "fill in the blanks" from the outline by writing the speech word-by-word - rather, practice from the outline, as this will allow you to make the speech in a much more fluid and conversational manner!

Of course, after this, there is still the step of actually giving the speech - which can be a frightening step if you are not comfortable speaking in front of large audiences - but as long as you have prepared properly, you should have no problem making the speech a success!

How To Manually Water Your Lawn

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have an automatic sprinkler system installed in your lawn, keeping your lawn watered will be as simple as checking on your sprinklers every once in a while to make sure they are running, and adjusting the schedule they are on if your lawn is starting to get dried out. It is a little bit different, on the other hand, to water your lawn manually - but as long as you make sure you take the right approach to watering your lawn manually, you should find that watering your lawn manually can be just as effective (if not nearly as easy!) as watering it automatically.

The most important (and most difficult) thing when it comes to manually watering your lawn is actually remembering to water it on a daily basis; because of the fact that your lawn should be watered when the sun is not on it (either early in the morning or late in the evening), you will need to make sure you set aside a certain time of day during which you do your watering.

When you set up your sprinkler, you will want to make sure the areas you are focusing on overlap a bit; this is another thing that is more difficult about watering manually, but it is also important, as it will ensure that you get full coverage on your lawn, getting all your grass fully watered and keeping all of it healthy.

Remembering to move the sprinkler is the final thing you will need to make sure you do when watering manually; it is easy to get distracted and to waste a lot of money leaving the sprinkler on one spot for hours, so either come up with a system to make sure you remember, or set an alarm that will remind you to move the sprinkler!

When you begin to manually water your lawn in this manner, you will be able to keep your lawn healthy without needing an automatic sprinkler system, and it might even give you a nice excuse for getting outside each day!

Taking A Look At Writing Groups Versus A Writing Partner

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One thing you will hear a lot of as you first get started as a writer is people suggesting that you get involved in some sort of writing group, as they imagine this will benefit you as you as you progress as a writer, growing your skills and your understanding of the craft, but while there are certainly some positives to writing groups, there are also some negatives, and in taking a look at these different attributes of writing groups, you will be better able to decide whether a writing group or a writing partner is the right fit for you.

The great amount of accountability a writing group will give you will be the biggest pro of joining one; one of the toughest things of getting started as a writer is finding the time to write on a consistent, daily basis, but when you need to have a piece to present to your writing group each week, this can help you to be far more motivated.

At the same time, there is the inherent negative in writing groups that you will be showing new work all the time, and while the time is sometimes "right" for you to show fresh work to other readers - and to have it critiqued by them - there are also times when this is not especially beneficial, particularly early on in any particular piece you are working on.

Being able to develop a relationship with one person whose opinion you respect will be one of the benefits of choosing to go with a writing partner instead of with a writing group, as you will then be able to share your work with them when the work is ready, rather than simply because a schedule tells you it is time to share your work. But of course, being self-motivated in order to get your writing done when you are not facing deadlines by which you must show your work will be one of the keys to this side - so before you make a commitment to one side or the other as an upstart writer, make sure you are weighing the pros and cons of each side, and are choosing the side that is right for you!

How To Budget Your Spending Money For Vacation

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It can seem like all the extra costs of a vacation are a bit overwhelming - more effort than the trip is worth. After all, the cost of the vacation - the travel, the lodging - are rarely all that a vacation entails, as your money will go to plenty more during the trip. If you want to minimize the stress that all these extra things can cause, all you have to do is follow a few tips to know how to budget your spending money correctly.

One of the most important parts of knowing how to budget your vacation spending money is understanding the extra costs your trip might incur; you can do this through proper research. If you take a ski vacation, you might think that lift tickets, meals, and lodging are all you need money for; but there are often extra equipment repairs or purchases to be made, and a lot more snacks than you expect because of the physical exertion. If you are taking a beach vacation, there may be more to it than just enjoying the beach; you may want to rent a sea kayak, or snorkeling gear, or rent a boat for fishing. When you research before you take a trip, you will be able to budget for these extras instead of being surprised by them.

Leaving a nice cushion is another important aspect of budgeting for your vacation, as you can still be surprised by some costs no matter how much you research. After all, if you run into surprise expenses for your travel or lodging, the last thing you will want to do is be forced to dip into your budget for fun stuff in order to pay for this. With a cushion, the worst case scenario is that you do not end up needing it, and you can save the money for later!

Finally, you should go into the trip with an idea of what you will and will not spend money on. For anyone who has children, this is especially important; they might think they want a certain trinket or souvenir, but you might know that they will be much happier in the long run if that money is spent on something else! A vacation should be relaxing; if you know how to research and budget your money, this can actually be the case!

Dealing With Criticism Of Your Artistic Output

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When you have poured your heart, soul, time, and effort into any form of artistic output - regardless of whether it is music, writing, painting, filmmaking, photography, or anything else - it can be extremely frustrating (and can even be downright discouraging!) when you stumble across negative reactions to your work. But while there is probably nothing you can do to make yourself not care at all when people say negative things about your creative output (that is, there is nothing you can do outside of simply getting conditioned to it!), there are certainly some things you can do in order to take a lot of the sting out of this frustration.

Even before you engage in any sort of creative output in the first place, the first thing you should realize is that there will never be a work of art (in any field of the arts) that will be universally liked; everyone has different tastes, and just as surely as some people will love your creative output, there will also be people who will hate it, and this is okay, because this simply means they have different tastes!

Once you have established this idea in your mind, it will help you to move past the frustration and to see if there is anything in the criticism you received that you can learn from - which is great, because even the most scathing reviews will often have a nugget of truth hidden somewhere inside them.

And finally, you should keep in mind the quote from JD Salinger, in which he said, "An artist's only concern is to shoot for some kind of perfection, and on his own terms, not anyone else's" - as this quote will help you remember that the main thing is for you to feel happy with your creative output! If you feel happy about the work you have done - and if you feel good about it - it will not matter what others say about it (regardless of whether they say good things or bad things), as you will be happy with it regardless.

How To Save Money On Electricity

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Whether you own a house or rent a house or apartment, the bills spent on living in that place can be a huge headache. Maybe you used to think that rent or mortgage was all you would have to worry about, but all of a sudden you also have to worry about water, gas, and electricity! It might seem like you are doing everything you can to cut down on your electricity costs, but you might want to think again. Perhaps you can even save a lot of extra money, just by recognizing the little things that cause your electricity bills to start to pile up.

You might think that it only costs you seven cents when you leave a light on for an hour, but think about the fact that the little things add up. By leaving an extra, unnecessary light on all day, you are spending more than just that seven cents; you are spending one dollar and sixty-eight cents. And if you left this hypothetical "extra light" on for an entire month, this would add up to over fifty dollars! Of course, it is unlikely that there is a light in your house that you leave on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but if you start to add up the extra lights you do leave on, you might realize that this example is not far off!

Shop For Energy-Efficient Light Bulbs.

Fans are another way by which electricity bills go up; if you are using a fan to cut down on air conditioning, this is a worthwhile cost. But if you are just leaving on fans in rooms that no one is in, these costs can really begin to add up! Start paying attention to what you are leaving on, and to what can be turned off; if something is not in use, don't leave it running!

Leaving things plugged in is one power drain you might never have thought of, and it can make a difference over time. Anything that is plugged in continues to use small amounts of electricity, even when not in use; if you get in the habit of unplugging things that are easy to unplug whenever they are not in use, you will see a difference.

Saving money on your electricity bills is easy; you just have to realize that the little things add up, and then you need to learn what all the little things are.

How To Take Strategic Time Off Work

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If the job you work is nothing more than a "filler job" - filling your time until you find a job doing what you truly want to do - or if you work at a job that is fairly flexible as far as allowing you to take days off, you will probably never get in one of those positions where you feel like you absolutely need to get away, and where you are not all too sure you will actually be able to. If, on the other hand, you work at a job that you deem to be important to you, or if your job is demanding (or if both of these are the case!), it will be important for you to take a day off every once in a while - and it is also important for you to be able to identify exactly when this is necessary.

If you work at a job that does not enable you to take time off whenever the mood strikes, you will want to be strategic with the days off you take - and the best approach, as far as this goes, is to simply wait until you reach a point where you feel like you have no choice but to take a day off, as if you just might burst if you don't!

When you take this day off, it will be tempting for you to just lie around doing nothing all day, but the problem with this is that you will soon return to work feeling no different from the way you felt before you left; instead of putting yourself in this position, you will put yourself in a much better position if you plan something that is not only relaxing for the day, but that is also fun and memorable!

And when it comes to you trying to take a strategic day off, the most important thing is that - on the day itself - you force yourself to exist "in the moment"; do not think about work or about any of your other responsibilities, but instead, enjoy what you are doing right then, as this will leave you feeling far more refreshed and fulfilled when you return to work at last.

Adding Birds As A "Winter Decoration" In Your Yard

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have ever been to a friend's house when there has been snow on the ground and have been birds at their bird feeder, you may have been struck by what a pretty sight this is, and may even have thought of trying to attract birds to a bird feeder in your own yard during the winter - but while birds against a landscape of snow is certainly pretty, you will need to realize that achieving this goal is not as easy as just putting a bird feeder and some bird seed in your yard!

Birds often migrate to warmer climates during the winter, largely because there is a greater availability of food where the weather is warmer, so if you want to have birds in your yard for the winter, the first thing you need to do is make sure they know they will have food if they stay for the winter - and the best way to do this is to hang your bird feeder as early as possible; there is no such thing as hanging a feeder "too early" if you want birds for the winter, but there is such a thing as hanging a feeder "too late"!

Another thing you will want to do is make sure you hang your feeder in a place where it will be attractive to birds; you should hang the bird feeder about chest-high or shoulder-high, and it should not be hung too close to your window (even though you may want it as close to your window as possible!) - and also, you will want to make sure the feeder is hung near trees or bushes that the birds can fly to, so that they do not expend too much energy flying back and forth from the feeder to a resting place.

And as far as taking care of these birds that you attract to your feeder, there are two specific things you will want to keep in mind: firstly, you will want to give them bird seed that is healthy and high in energy (black oil sunflower seeds mixed with nuts, berries, and dried fruits is best!), and you will want to make sure you continue to feed them throughout the winter. After all, these birds are staying for the winter because they know they can get food from you - and you will not want to put them in a place where they are no longer able to find food once the snow starts to fall!

Tips For Finding Great Deals On iPads

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the hottest items around these days is the iPad, but regardless of whether you are thinking of getting an iPad for yourself or as a gift for someone else, one of the problems you will run into is the fact that iPads are not exactly cheap - but while it is unlikely you will find an iPad for "cheap," there are a few things you can do to find an iPad for a lot less money than you would normally have to spend!

EBay is one of the best places to go for good deals on just about anything, and while you are probably not going to find great deals on a brand new iPad through eBay, you should realize that a lightly used iPad is just as good; keep your eyes open for sellers who have great seller ratings, and who decided to upgrade to a newer version of the iPad or decided that the iPad was not really for them, as this will give you opportunities to buy iPads without spending a big chunk of cash.

Because Apple is always coming out with new, updated versions of their products, there are also plenty of times when you can find a brand new older version for a lot less money than it would have been just a month or two earlier; keep your eyes open for upgrades to the iPad, and use this as an opportunity to swoop in and save a lot of money on a slightly older version!

And while it is not often that you will find tremendous deals on the newest models of the iPad, it is always worth keeping a lookout just in case; the place where you are most likely to come across great deals on brand new iPads is on Amazon, so visit the iPad store on Amazon often, and you just might run into a promotion that gives you a brand new iPad for a minimal amount of money!

Most people who own an iPad feel that nothing matches it - but if you manage to pick up an iPad while also saving some money, you will realize that this is one thing that is even better than an iPad alone!

Planning An Outdoor Wedding: Things To Keep In Mind

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Regardless of whether you are going to be a bride or a groom, you will probably come to find - when you are planning a wedding - that the bride has certain ideas in her head from which she does not want to be dissuaded, and usually, the groom is happy to go along with these ideas - so long as they make sense. But one idea that might seem to make sense on the surface, but that does not always make sense in reality, is planning an outdoor wedding, and while you might be a bride who has your heart set on an outdoor wedding, you will want to examine these three things to make sure it is a good idea for you.

When are you getting married: One big consideration when you are planning an outdoor wedding will be the time of year, as the weather will make a big difference on how your wedding turns out; be aware of what the temperatures will be like around the time of year when you plan to be married, and if they will be too extreme, consider either changing the date or moving the wedding inside!

What time of day will the wedding be: The time of day when the wedding will take place usually lends itself to more flexibility than the time of year, but if for some reason you are locked into a certain time of day, realize that the pictures will turn out much better if you are getting married in the evening than in the early afternoon, so if it is important to you that you have good pictures from the wedding, consider moving the wedding inside!

What is your backup plan: It will be important that you acknowledge that the weather will be unpredictable, and you will want to make sure you have a backup plan, because sometimes the weather will give you no choice but to move the wedding inside!

When you are planning your wedding, keep these questions in mind, and before you take the step of planning an outdoor wedding, make sure it will be a good idea!

Tips For Putting Yourself In A Position To Read Whenever You Want

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One thing that may disappoint you from time to time if you are fond of reading is that it is not quite as easy to "read whenever you would like" as you would like it to be; of course, it is not truly possible to read all the time, as you must also be able to work (and sleep!), but one thing you may not have realized is that it is possible to make it far easier on yourself to read all the time.

At times, one thing that keeps people from reading is that they run out of available books, and of course, they do not want to keep stacks of books in their room, as books can be expensive, and it can be tough to justify spending money on books that you do not have time to read; if you have ever felt this way, one thing you should keep in mind is the fact that you can find great deals on used books, as long as you know where to look - so take to Amazon, and to your local used bookstore, and you can have stacks of books to choose from whenever you want to read something new.

Another wonderful idea is to get a Kindle, as this will allow you to carry hundreds of books with you wherever you go; if you travel a lot, one thing that may keep you from being able to read as often as you would like is the fact that you cannot exactly bring a stack of books with you everywhere you go, but with the Kindle, this becomes a possibility - no problem at all!

And if you seem to always be on the go, consider getting into audiobooks; with an audiobook, you can listen to a book while you are driving to work, while you are working out or jogging, or even while you are in the shower - which will open up lots of new "reading" opportunities you did not have before!

No matter what sorts of books you tend to enjoy, being able to read all the time is great - and when you keep these thoughts in mind, it is something you will be able to do yourself!
