Knowing Places To See When You Visit Boston

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
For people from other parts of the world, Boston is one of the biggest tourist destinations in America, as the city is rich with history and culture, but in addition to being a great place for those from other countries to visit, it is also a great place for Americans to visit; if you are planning a trip to Boston, there are a few specific areas of the city you will want to make sure you explore - and if you are not planning a trip to Boston, perhaps it is something that you should consider!

People call baseball "America's Pastime," and although it is not as popular these days as football is, there is nothing that is held in higher esteem in Boston than their hometown Red Sox; part of the reason for this love of the Red Sox is the long and storied history of the team, but another part of it is their ballpark itself, as Fenway Park is the oldest - and is among the most storied - ballparks in Major League Baseball, and when you visit Boston, you should realize that seeing Fenway Park is a must!

Boston is also full of wonderful museums and other sites and experiences of great cultural and historical significance, but if you want to get a bit of culture while also having fun, take a trip to the New England Aquarium; the New England Aquarium is one of the most renowned aquariums in the world, and it is a great way to have a bit of fun while also seeing and learning some really cool things!

And of course, when you visit any city, one thing you will want to make sure you do is sample the local cuisine - and in Boston, there is no better way to do this than to stop by the North End. The North End of Boston has plenty of historical significance, as it was the location of Paul Revere's house, the Old North Church, and the start of Revere's famous ride through the countryside, but this part of Boston also houses Italian section of the city - and if you are looking for good food, there is no better place in the city for you to go, and there will probably be no place in the city you will be more excited to come back to again!

Tips For Picking A Good Location When Buying A Home

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
There will be a lot of things that go into the decisions you will make when buying a home, but as is the case with any decision - be it a small decision or a large decision - it can be easy to let emotions overtake you, and for these emotions to thereafter dictate the decisions you make; you will want to realize, before you commit to buying a house, that a house is an investment - one that is supposed to appreciate in value over time - and because of this, you will need to make sure you are removing emotions from your decision, and that you are understanding what you can do to pick a good location.

One key to keep in mind is that you should never purchase the highest-valued house on a particular street or in a particular neighborhood; it might seem like it would be nice to look around and see houses that are not as wonderful as your own, but these other houses will create a drag on the value of your own house - and as houses in your town or city appreciate in value, yours will appreciate at a far slower pace, because of the houses around it.

On top of making sure you are not buying the most expensive house on your street, it will also help you to buy a house in a part of the town or city toward which things are expanding; not only will you be able to find a better deal on a house when you buy in an area that everything else has not yet expanded toward, but this house will also appreciate more quickly as other things and other people begin to move out in its direction.

And when you are shopping for houses, you will want to make sure you keep the intangibles in mind as well, considering the appeal of things such as a pool, or a corner lot, or the size of the yard itself, and also making sure that the house will still look "up-to-date" ten, twenty, or thirty years down the road.

As you shop for a home, keep these things in mind, and you will put yourself in good shape to make a good decision - and to end up with a house that will reward you when it comes time to sell.

Tips For Making Memories With Your Family In The Summer

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Too many parents raise their children for 18 years apiece, and then, when all their children move away, the one main regret these parents have is that they wish they had created more memories with their children while they had them at home. One of the reasons many adults end up feeling this way is because it is sometimes difficult to find the time to make significant memories, but the other reason is simply that many parents do not recognize how important such memories are until it is too late - but the truth is, the things that will stick out in your children's minds (and in your minds as well!) years down the road is the memories you made as a family, and this is the perfect time of year to make these memories happen.

A great way to make memories with your family if you have a pool or live close to the ocean is to have a pool day or a beach day; while many families who live near the ocean think to have beach days sometimes, most families with a pool do not even think to set aside "pool days," but getting everyone out there together for a whole day is a great way to make memories.

Another great way to make memories is by taking outings with your family, and the great thing about the idea of "outings" is that you can always be creative and find different things to do, such as a day in the city, a night at a baseball game, even a picnic the park.

And of course, adventures are always a great way to make memories; go on a camping trip, go fishing or hiking, or go on a nature walk - keeping your eyes open for fun and original adventures that your family can enjoy together.

Saint George Island - A Great Vacation Destination!

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Among all the beautiful and well-known vacation destinations in the United States, Florida sits somewhere near the top of the list. But even with all the wonderful things that come with a Florida vacation, there is also the consideration that Florida is an extremely popular destination. Because of its popularity, the beaches of Florida are often crowded, even if you can afford to rent a beach house intsead of staying in a crowded hotel. But at the same time, there are still a few places in Florida that remain quiet and serene, and one of these places is Saint George Island.

A 22-mile barrier island, Saint George Island contains some of the quietest and most pristine beaches in the entire Gulf. Saint George Island offers miles of uncrowded beaches that are great for sunning, shelling, and fishing, with calm, beautiful water. And if you are a fan of wildlife, Saint George Island is known for its sea turtles and for the huge population of dolphins that roam its waters.

image

There are lots of accommodations in Saint George Island, ranging from large homes to small cottages, all within walking distance to the beautiful beaches. You can also find plenty of places to rent bicycles if you do not want to bring your own, and you can rent kayaks and boats to take out on the water for the day.

If you enjoy good seafood, you will also find this on Saint George Island at a number of eateries that are sprinkled throughout the island. And if you want to add a bit of local flavor to your luggage, there are some great little shops that you can visit during your time on Saint George.

These days, serene and quiet vacation destinations in enviable locations can be difficult to find, and it is even harder to find such places at an affordable price. But Saint George Island offers all these things, and more; keep Saint George Island at the front of your thoughts if you are starting to plan this year's summer vacation!

How To Ring In A Vacation

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One thing that will probably be important to you when you are going on vacation is that you are able to truly relax throughout the vacation – unwinding and “recharging your batteries” so that by the time the vacation is over and you go back to work you will feel fully refreshed, and will feel that the vacation was truly worthwhile. While this is the general goal that just about everyone has on vacation, one mistake a lot of people make in working to achieve this goal is that they fail to ring in the vacation properly, which puts them in a position where they never truly feel like the vacation began, and where they spend the whole week of vacation just trying to start relaxing.

Although “ringing in a vacation” might seem like a small thing, this will yield positive results that are no small thing at all – and the great news is that ringing in a vacation takes hardly any work at all! In order to ring in a vacation, the first thing you will want to make sure you do is plan something special for the first night of the vacation; this does not have to be something big, as ringing in the vacation is less about what you do and more about simply doing something. One idea for ringing in the vacation is to do something such as a special dinner on the first night of the vacation – or even better, to do something that will create a big memory and kick the vacation off with a bang such as a bonfire on the beach or a night of grilling over a campfire.

After you have made the effort to ring in your vacation properly, will want to make sure that you are able to carry this momentum throughout the rest of your vacation, too; the best way of all to do this is to use that first night for everyone to say what they hope to get out of the vacation, and when you do this, you will be surprised to find how many of these things end up being fulfilled by the end of the week!

Keeping Your Lawn Clean by Edging

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Warmer weather is starting to peak its head through the winter meaning spring is close. Yard work will be upon us sooner than we think even though we are still officially in winter. A great idea in order to make your landscaping easier than last year is to get an edger. Flower boxes in your yard and the outline of your grass can all be even more attractive after an edger is used around them.

One of the best edgers available today is the Black and Decker LE750 Edge Hog. Quick assembly and easy use are two of its strong points. It eliminates the need for putting different parts together like you need to with many edgers. Electricity is the power source for this edger. You will need to use an extension cord, but being electric eliminates the hassle of gas and oil. In the long run this will also save you a good chunk of change.

Gas edgers can be really noisy throughout a neighborhood, but this one is not allowing you to get to work early on the weekends. A gas edger doesn't have any more power than this one. The motor packs two and a quarter horse power allowing you to tend to every portion of your landscape. You can easily switch up the heights it is edging at with the edge guide that raises and lowers the edger.

This edger is extremely light weight thanks to it being electric. It is much easier to maneuver around your yard thanks to this weight savings. It also allows you to edge around curves with ease where other edgers often have the most trouble. The blade will spin as long as you hold the trigger down, but stops on a dime once the trigger is released. In many cases accidents can be avoided thanks to this great feature.

Overall the Black and Decker LE750 Edge Hog can help you to keep your lawn looking clean. Electricity as an energy source results in cost and energy savings over the life of the edger. This spring make sure that you don’t stop at simply mowing your lawn. Give it a beautiful finished look by edging it.

Tips For Maximizing Your Commute

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
A lot of people spend time complaining about how much time they lose each day commuting to and from work, but what many of these people fail to realize (or, at least, what many of these people refuse to realize!) is that their commute could actually steal a whole lot less of their time if they simply figured out a way to make the most of their commute - and while the definition of "making the most" of something will vary from person to person, here are a few ideas that many people find useful, and that you may find useful as well!

One of the best ways to maximize your time if you take a bus and/or a subway to work is to read during your commute, as this will not only help you to keep your mind active during your commute, but will also help you to relax; of course, you will not exactly be able to read if you drive to work instead of taking public transportation, but what you will be able to do is listen to audiobooks - and these will help to pass the time more quickly, while also keeping your mind engaged and alert.

Talking on the phone to friends and family is another great way to maximize the time you spend commuting to and from work - and it is something you can do whether you are driving or taking public transportation; by talking to friends and family during your commute, you will be able to keep up with the important people in your life, and will be able to do so without using up your free time in the evening (just make sure that you are hands-free if you are talking on the phone while you are driving to and from work, so that you will be safe on the road).

And one of the best things commuting to work is that this gives you a lot of time during which you can be alone inside your mind, even if you are around a lot of other people, and you can use this time to your advantage by coming up with thoughts and ideas that you can put into action in your present and your future - for your work, family, and personal life!

Of course, no one wants to spend such a large chunk of their life commuting to and from work - but when you learn to maximize your commute, it becomes a whole lot better!

Beryl Markham's "West With The Night"

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are looking for a great book to read, one book to consider is Beryl Markham's classic tale of adventure, "West with the Night"; this book is nonfiction, but it is written with a fiction tone – conveying all of Beryl Markham's fantastic stories from her childhood and adulthood in Africa.

Probably the best endorsement of all for this book came from literary legend Ernest Hemingway; Hemingway, who was certainly not known for speaking well of his contemporaries, said of Beryl Markham's book, “she has written so well, and marvelously well, that I was completely ashamed of myself as a writer,” adding, "I felt that I was simply a carpenter with words, picking up whatever was furnished on the job and nailing them together and sometimes making an okay pig pen, [but she] can write rings around all of us who consider ourselves as writers."

Markham's childhood is especially interesting for the fact that she truly did grow up in Africa, as her father moved with her from England to British East Africa when she was only four years old; from that point onward, she grew up with Africa as her true home, experiencing the country in the way only a local could – and in fact, Africa became home to her to such an extent that when her father moved to Peru when she was 17, she opted to stay in her “home country” rather than leaving with him.

This book not only explores her childhood – regaling the reader with tales of adventure and misadventure – but it also takes us through her adulthood as a freelance pilot, flying over the great, vast wilderness of Africa, leading her to adventure after adventure, and bringing the reader alongside her.

For anyone who enjoys a pleasant, unpredictable read that is full of adventure and excitement, while also giving the reader information and knowledge, "West with the Night" is certainly a book worth picking up and devouring right away!

Taking A Look At Three Mistakes To Avoid When Approaching Literary Agents

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are hoping to get a book that you have written published (regardless of whether you are wanting to publish a novel, a nonfiction book, a book of short stories, or just about anything else!), you will need to have a literary agent – but anyone who has ever gone through the process of trying to land a literary agent has found that this can sometimes be the most difficult obstacle of all in getting published! Many people do not know the mistakes to avoid (the mistakes so many writers tend to make!), and this is one of the main reasons why they have such a hard time landing a literary agent, but when you take these steps, you can avoid these mistakes yourself.

Because landing an agent can sometimes take such a long time, a lot of writers think that they should “get the ball rolling early,” contacting literary agents before their work is complete; this is an absolute “No,” however – not only should you wait until your manuscript is completely written before approaching agents, but you should also wait until you have thoroughly edited it, so that it will be ready to send if an agent shows interest.

Learn more from the Complete Idiots Guide To Getting Published.

A lot of writers also approach several agents at once – sending out a mass email, and/or addressing their emails as “Dear sir or madam” - thinking this will save them time; take the time to approach each agent individually, and you will have a much greater chance of success.

Another bad idea is attempting anything a literary agent might consider "cute" or "gimmicky"; your goal should be to display good writing, and to get an agent to your sample pages as quickly as possible with an idea as to what the story is about – nothing more than this!

If you are serious about getting published, you would also be wise to study some of the more valuable resources online; one such resource is Query Shark, which is one agent’s edits of query letters that have been sent to her, and the blog post The Biggest Mistakes Writers Make When Querying Agents, in which the poster emailed over fifty agents to get their response to this single question.

How To Make A Latte At Home

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you are a big fan of lattes from Starbucks, but you do not feel like spending all that money each day, you may want to learn to make lattes at home. And actually, after you purchase the equipment for making lattes at home - and really, the equipment does not cost all that much - you can make delicious lattes every day for as little as about 20 cents per latte!

Lattes are essentially espresso, steamed milk, and (usually) some sort of flavoring, so you will need to be able to make espresso at home in order to make a latte. You need to make sure that you purchase espresso beans instead of simply purchasing regular coffee beans, and you also need to grind these espresso beans until they are extremely fine. There are a lot of espresso machines out there as well, and these machines can range from inexpensive to downright outrageous! The Mr Coffee 4 Cup Espresso Machine is a solid machine that works well, and if you are buying on a budget, it is a perfect machine - on Amazon, it only costs $35!

The next thing you will need if you want to make a latte at home is some steamed milk. When it comes to steaming milk, there are milk steamers you can buy, or you can save money by simply steaming the milk right there on your stove. You will be good to go as long as you keep in mind the fact that the milk needs to be constantly stirred, rather than just sitting there.

Once you have two to three shots of espresso prepared, pour these shots into a 16 ounce cup and add the flavoring you usually get in your lattes. Look to purchase your latte flavoring on Amazon, where you can get enough to flavor your latte for a long time, for a great price.

You will be ready to add the steamed milk and stir the whole thing up after you have added the flavoring to the espresso, and then you will have a delicious latte just like the ones you enjoy from Starbucks. In this way, you can have your special coffee treat every day without going broke in the process!

Tips For Trimming Your Beard

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
A beard is a great addition to any man's face, as the beard looks great, is comfortable, and protects the face in all sorts of inclement weather and uncomfortable situations - but for the first-time beard grower (and even for those who have cultivated a garden of hair on their face for a long time!), it can sometimes be difficult to know exactly how to trim the beard. While one's personal approach to beard growing and beard trimming is a solo search, this does not mean that you have to find your own way altogether; make sure you pay attention to these beard trimming tips, and you will be able to avoid the myriad mistakes made by your forbears.

The first thing you need to learn about is the proper things to do when trimming around the beard; many guys have a tendency, when they have first started growing the beard, to start trimming too early, and to trim too close to the beard itself - instead, you should wait through at least two full weeks of beard growing before giving your beard its first trim, and you should always start out "too wide" instead of "too narrow."

When trimming the beard itself, you will need to have a good idea of the length you want to keep, and then you should purchase a good beard trimmer that can help you maintain this length; without a good beard trimmer, you will have a hard time keeping your beard at the length you desire.

And even after you have put the beard trimmer to work on your face, you will still find some long hairs or some uneven spots that you will want to clean up; make sure you use a good pair of scissors to clean up these spots, instead of making the mistake so many men make of going in with the beard trimmer and buzzing too close!

With these tips in hand, you will be well on your way to forging your own path, with your own beautiful and magnificent beard!

Tips For Gaining Exposure As A Musician

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When you are first starting out as a musician, you will probably have aspirations of gaining a huge following and making lots of money as you tour around the country - and while it is important for you to have such a vision in order to achieve success, you must also realize that you will probably have to start out a lot smaller than this! After all, for every "big winner" on shows like X Factor and American Idol, there are thousands upon thousands of talented musicians trying to break into the music business - and if your want to reach success in this area yourself, you will need to know how to gain exposure!

The interesting thing about American Idol is the fact that - even with the millions of viewers who have watched and voted for these contestants - very few of these contestants actually go on to significantly successful music careers, and part of the reason for this tendency to "flame out" is the fact that the structure of the show does not enable a contestant to create a truly loyal following.

When you start building a name as a musician the old-fashioned way - playing gigs in town, and eventually playing gigs in surrounding towns, and eventually moving out into the surrounding states, and so on - you will not only be able to get exposure, but you will be able to connect with fans on an individual, personal level.

Connecting with fans plays a huge role in attaining the goal of "gaining momentum" as a musician; when you start out by playing shoes wherever they are, whenever the opportunity arises, you will connect with more and more people, and because these people will have seen you in "small, intimate" shows, they are far more likely to become staunchly and fiercely loyal supporters of your music!

It can be a long road to achieve success in the music business, but when you chase this dream by gaining exposure in a grassroots sort of manner, you will take great strides toward moving into the sort of success you dream of achieving!

Enjoying Adventures As A Family

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the most important things for you to do as the patriarch or matriarch of your family is to make sure that you and your family are making memories; after all, when you children grow up and move away from home, the main thing that will stick out to them as well as to you is the memories your family made while they were growing up. And when it comes to making memories as a family, one of the best ways of all for you to go about doing this is for you to manufacture "adventures" - and when it comes to adventures, it will be useful for you to have a few ideas as to what you can do.

When it comes to creating adventure - and therefore creating a significant memory - with your family, one of the best ways is for you to go rafting; regardless of whether you are simply going rafting on a lazy river or are going whitewater rafting to where you need a guide and life vests, you are sure to enjoy this time, and to create some lasting memories.

When you start making an effort to create "adventures" with your family, you will find that it is often the most intense times that create the best adventures, and the best memories - and when it comes to intense (and stressful!) experiences, there is not a whole lot that beats going camping with your entire family.

Of course, if you have no real interest in creating memories and adventure along the path of "stress," you can even create memories through simply hanging out around town with your family; regardless of whether it is a night of dinner at a restaurant, some time in the downtown of your city, or even an outing to a museum or aquarium in your city or town, you will find that "adventures" and memories will be the theme of the day when you get your whole family out there together. In this way, you will give your children memories they can hold onto forever - and even if these are things that they do not necessarily enjoy at the time, they will become things that everyone in your family remembers for the rest of their lives!

Tips For Consolidating Your Student Loans

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have student loans, one thing you will hear from a lot of people is the suggestion that you should consolidate these loans - but while this is sometimes true, you will want to make sure of a few things yourself before you take this step: you will want to make sure consolidating your loans will be a good idea, you will want to make sure you qualify, and you will need to know how to do it.

Consolidating student loans is great at times, but this is not necessarily the case every time; of course, the primary benefit you will receive from consolidating your loans will be that you will only need to make one payment a month, to one place (typically the US Department of Education), but another thing to be aware of is that this will take away the opportunity for you to apply for any deferments or forbearances, and it will likely cause you to take longer to pay off your loans (which means paying more money) - so if you feel good about your loans as they stand and are not having any problems, you should leave them alone.

You should also realize that only federal loans qualify for consolidation; this means that you will not have the option of consolidating any private student loans you have taken out, and will need to continue paying these off separately.

And finally, realize that the things you need to do in order to consolidate your loans are fairly simple (really, you need to do nothing more than fill out an application on the US Department of Education website), but until confirmation reaches you that says your loans have, in fact, been consolidated, you will still have to continue making payments on the loans you already have out there!

Make sure the student loans you are carrying qualify for loan consolidation, and make sure loan consolidation will be a good idea for you - and if both of these happen to be the case, you will be able to take the simple steps to consolidating your loans into a single bundle, under a single holder.

Children and Math

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Some children can find math to be the bane of their existence at school. Sometimes children need more help with math then they can get during the school day. This is unfortunate because of how much math we actually have incorporated through our entire adult lives. It can also be very frustrating for your child to struggle while they see other people around them picking it up easily.

One great way to practice math is to get a reliable program such Math Made Easy. Targeting skills children should have for each grade. You can use this to help your children prepare for the school year and relieve a bit of stress. Plus the practice over the summer months will really help their math retention.

Another big point is that math doesn't have to be boring. Young kids can play games with flash cards. The more you invest timewise working with your child, the faster their basic math skills will become. Simply getting addition down from 0 to 9 can really assist for the upper level math skills. They won't just be bogged down by the basics.

There are also a number of wonderful math games to help your child. Reader rabbits math series along with board games like Sum Swamp addition can be fun ways to help them learn. Any extra time you can get your kids involved with math will really help them in the long run.

Today there are so many different tools to help your kids with math. Schools have also begun to provide resources along with free web games for assisting in children's learning. Most teachers are more than happy and willing to share any information they have.

Using A Designated Area To Resolve Conflicts

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When it comes to conflicts in the workplace, there is usually a mediation process in place, but most people do not institute this same idea in their homes. Businesses use such processes because, quite simply, they work, enabling people to resolve their conflicts in a thorough and effective manner. If you have a home life that includes plenty of conflict, you should consider borrowing a page from these companies; establish a conflict resolution process of your own. One of the most important things, when laying the ground rules for resolving conflicts is having a designated conflict resolution area.

Remember, within marriage, the bedroom should be a safe and loving place, which means that you should never designate your bedroom as the conflict resolution area. When it comes to resolving conflicts with your children, on the other hand, they will feel safer and will be better able to open up to you if you use their bedroom as a conflict resolution area.

After you have established what the conflict resolution area will be, you need to make sure that the ground rules for conflict resolution are well established. For instance, it is important, in conflict resolution, that each person have a chance to speak; this can be accomplished by using a "speaking device." For instance, if you have a certain spoon that is the "talking spoon," the person holding it will have their turn to speak, without being interrupted; if one person (or both people) in a conflict has a tendency to interrupt, this will create a safer environment for the conversation.

No one should ever be "taken by surprise" when it comes to conflict resolution; you should always approach the conflict resolution area and the conversation by consensus. And chances are pretty good that your conflict resolution area also doubles as a living room, dining room, kitchen, et cetera. Make sure, then, that each person knows that the area is being used for conflict resolution when it is being used for conflict resolution!

It is not always easy to resolve conflicts at home, but it is always important; resolving conflicts becomes much simpler once you set a designated conflict resolution area.

Helping Your Child's Reading

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you want to help your child excel at reading, the best thing you can do is to make it fun. It is a double win as they learn how to read and they love the time spent with you. Reading can be incredibly fun for the whole family.

One great program that has taught many kids to read is Hooked on Phonics. This set contains everything you children need to learn to read. This program teaches the basics of letter sounds that you must learn in order to read and spell. This program works incredibly well and is very encouraging for your child. This system has games and provides ways for tracking your childs progress so you know how well they are doing. You child will feel great moving from not being able to read at all to fully reading.

Another thing you can do for your children is read to them frequently out of books that are at their reading level. Scholastic books have many books at many different reading levels to get your child interested in reading. As you read to your child more while pointing at the words you will find some of the words your child can begin to recognize at sight. This is a wonderful thing for them to learn. You can actually incorporate this even further by utilizing sight flash cards.

It is great to give your child the gift of your time but also the gift of a head start in school. With school being a bit hard to adjust to, this can be a great way to really get them a good head start on. A little time and patience from parents can help a child learn alot.

Classic Books Your Children Will Love

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Classic books transcend time and these books are the ones you must read to your children because the story appeals to every generation. It really is important to share these works of art with our children. Your children will appreciate the bonding time with you along with the outstaning story.

The Phantom Tollbooth is an outstanding book by Norton Juster. Young children love the adventure that Milo goes on while older children will begin to understand and enjoy the word play that occurs through out the entire book. You will be introduced to Tock the watch dog and the which who is not a witch. Every child should have this book read to them out loud at some point during their young life.

Another great book is The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is part of a larger series of books called The Chronicals Of Narnia. Though this book is heavy in Christian values it is not too in your face. Though the Christian theme is there, it isn't offensive in any mannor.  Children will find this book to simply be an epic tale with mythical creatures and an evil witch. This book is a classic and children love to use their imagination to follow children their own age through this great land. The characters are rich and easy to enjoy.

A Wrinkle in Time is part of series writing by Madeleine L&rsquo. This is about a teenage girl who doesn’t exactly fit in and has low self-esteem. Meg ultimately saves her father as she solves problems through this book inspite of her low feelings about herself. Unlike the other books listed before, this book is science heavy but it is still understandable. Children who may enjoy the sci fi niche may greatly enjoy this book.

This is just three of many books that are well worth reading. The Golden Compass, Ramona the pest, and Little House on the Prairie are all books that are well worth reading also. Think back to the books you loved as a child, odds are your children or the children in your life will also enjoy the same books.

Tips For Setting Up A Fantasy Football League

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It seems like you will hear about fantasy football everywhere you turn this time of year, but if you have never played before, you might not know what it is all about - and even if you have decided that you want to start playing, you might not know what you will need to do in order to make this happen. One thing you can do, of course, is find a league that is already in existence and claim a spot in that league (and if you go onto such sites as ESPN, NFL, and CBS Sports, you will be able to find plenty of leagues you can join), but you will also find that it is a lot more fun to participate in a fantasy football league with a group of people you already know - and this will probably entail setting up a league on your own.

Once you have selected the site that you will use for your fantasy football league, you will need to decide what you want the rules to be; a standard fantasy football league uses 10 players and "standard scoring," but when you look at the "standard scoring" rules, you might find a few things you decide you want to change.

The next thing you will need to do is invite the friends you are hoping will want to participate in the league; make sure that you tell them to look over the rules before they join, and make sure they are also willing to participate all throughout the season, as there is nothing that is more of a bummer than a fantasy football season that loses half its members halfway through the season!

And making sure you set a date for the draft when everyone will be able to participate is the last thing for you to do before getting started with the season, as making sure everyone is able to pick their own team will be a big part of making sure everyone participates.

You will be able to refine and improve your league's approach the longer it is in existence, but by paying attention to these simple things, you will be able to get started!

Watching Netflix Movies On The Wii

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
If you have a Netflix account and also own a Wii, you might be wondering how you can marry these two magical realms of technology to watch live, streaming video from Netflix on your Wii. When you take just a few easy steps, Netflix makes it very easy for you access thousands of live, streaming videos on your television, right through your Wii!

The first thing you will need to do is go onto your Netflix account on your computer and ask for a "Streaming Disc"; this is a disc they will send you that you can put into your Wii, and once your Wii has collected the information from the disc, it will be able to play streaming videos from Netflix. If you also own other gaming consoles - such as the Playstation 3 or the XBox - the streaming disc will work for these as well, and since you can keep the disc, you will have it in case you need it again, or in case you decide to change primary gaming consoles down the road.

Once you have uploaded the content from the disc to your Wii, you will simply need to check your internet connection to firstly make sure it works, and to secondly make sure it is fast enough to play live, streaming videos; the optimal speed for your internet to reach is 3 Mbps, but you will be able to get it to work (at a lower quality of video) at about 2 Mbps.

Once you have reached this point, the only other things you will need to do is input your account information and start browsing through your favorite videos on Netflix! You may need to use your computer to set up your "Play Now" queue in order to make it easy to access the videos you want to access (the search feature on the Wii-Netflix combo is not a high point), but with your "Play Now" queue set up from your computer, you will be able to access everything on your television!

Don't Let Your Kids Get Hooked on Electronics

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the hardest things for an adult to do in today’s world is buy a gift for a young child. In the recent past there were plenty of gifts that would be considered top notch that kids in today's world would balk at. Where an original Nintendo machine was state of the art entertainment in the 80’s, kids today have more advanced games to play on their cell phones. Standing the test of time has still be done by some gifts however. Younger children who still think that a bunch of blocks can be just as much fun as video games are who these gifts are usually for.

This is also the same age of children that have brains developing at a break neck pace. Gifts that can combine entertainment and learning experiences into one are the best options. A gift in this vein are Nanoblocks. They are similar to Lego’s; blocks that fit together and can be stacked to form free standing objects. They come in kits that are designed to build recognizable objects like legos. Having fun is the first priority and kids can also follow the structure.

Nanoblock Castle Neuschwanstein. These blocks are great gifts for many different occasions. All the young ones in your life can be given these blocks for holidays and their birthdays. Being immersed in technology at such a young age is not good for any child and this gift can help prevent this from happening to them. People are losing touch with the activities that stimulate their minds since technology is becoming more and more prevalent. This trend often starts in childhood and continues through adulthood, so it is best to keep your kid’s brains stimulated as much as possible when they are young. The bright adults they eventually become will prove the method correct!

Tips For Having A Fun Staycation

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
It is always nice if you can take a vacation during the summer, but as "nice" as it is to take a vacation, it is not always possible; sometimes, it is not possible because of money, and other times it is simply not possible because of time, but regardless of the reasons why a vacation will not work for you and your family this summer, the key is to find a solution instead of dwelling on the problem. And as far as solutions go for not being able to take a vacation, there are not many ideas that are better than the idea of planning a "staycation" for your family to enjoy together!

"Staycation," of course, simply means that you are all staying at home, but you and your family are treating it like a real vacation - and when it comes to having a fun staycation, making sure your family treats it like a real vacation will be the first step; shorten the time of your staycation (if you would usually take a week-long vacation, make your staycation 3 days!), but make sure everyone in the family knows that you will all be treating it like a real vacation!

After you ahve made sure that everyone in your family will be setting aside the days for the staycation, you will want to make sure you establish what all of you will "not do" - as in, none of you will be working during the staycation, and none of you will be leaving the house to hang out with other friends!

And the second thing will be establishing all the things that you plan "to do" while you have your staycation; make sure the days are planned out and as packed with fun as possible, and you will be on the road to success!

If you are unable to go out of town on vacation this summer, this does not preclude you from having fun; keep these tips in mind, and plan a staycation that everyone in your family will remember for years to come!

Making A Family Holiday Great

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
One of the biggest parts of having a "successful" family is doing things together that everyone will remember fondly in the future, as these are the things that truly bind all the members of your family together, and while there are certainly plenty of opportunities for doing this, one of the best opportunities you will have for doing things together and making memories is holidays; if you are looking for ways to further strengthen your family, here are a few things you can keep in mind for all the major vacations that pop up throughout the year.

The first thing you should realize is that traditions are a big part of having fun as a family, as these traditions will give all the members of your family certain things they can look forward to and expect as the holiday draws nearer; try to establish traditions within your family that everyone enjoys, and get in the habit of cutting out the traditions that your family is not especially attached to, as this will make room for newer traditions!

Failing to make the most of these days, and then looking back on them afterward and wishing you had enjoyed the day more, is also a common mistake people make; rather than using holidays as a free day during which you can get done the errands and responsibilities that have been piling up, use the day as a complete holiday - setting aside the whole day to spend time with other members of your family, having fun and making memories together.

And of course, laughing together is one of the best ways to bond with the other members of your family; regardless of whether it is over a game that all of you enjoy and get a kick out of, a movie that your whole family loves, or simply some conversation where all of you can chat and laugh together, laughing will give all of you fond memories you can look back on as you remember all the fun of the holiday.

Of course, all these ideas also hold true for any other time you and your family are all together, but realize that holidays give you the perfect opportunity to bond together and create memories, and keeping these tips in mind will help you to make this happen!

Exploring The Question: Is It Possible To Make A Living Writing Novels?

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
A lot of people - especially those who really enjoy reading books - get it in their head that writing novels for a living would be one of the best careers in the world, as they imagine that this would allow them to sit at home in a comfortable chair and explore a "story world" they have created; but of course, this mindset also leads people to believe that becoming an author cannot be all that difficult, as they will simply need to make the time to write that first novel, and will be able to reap all the benefits afterward.

The first thing you need to realize if you want to make a living writing novels is that you are not alone in this desire, as thousands of others, each year, latch onto this same idea and decide to start writing; because of this, it is important that you take the time and make the effort to grow your craft at a faster rate than the rate at which these other authors are doing the same thing - learning more about writing, taking the time to read more books, and practicing so your writing becomes better and better!

Once you have begun to set aside the time to write every single day, and have gotten to a point where you can look back over the work you did months earlier and can see apparent progress, you should start working on some short stories that you can submit to various publications; even though it might take you a while to get some of these short stories published, keep working at it, as this additional exposure will help you to connect with readers and other writers, and will also give you valuable publishing credits.

And once you have started finding a bit of success in the short stories you have been working to write, it will be time for you to take the leap, making the time to write something substantially longer, and sending it off to agents and publishing houses to see what sort of response you get.

You may end up enduring years of rejections and "failures" before you achieve that success you hope to achieve, but if you keep working and keep improving and refuse to give up, you will someday reach that point you dream of reaching!

How To Ventilate Your Home

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Many people feel like they spend far more money on cooling and heating their house than they think they should be spending, but they have a hard time fixing this as they do not know exactly what they should do differently. Really, it is true that lots of people spend much more on heating and cooling their house than they should have to, and one of the main reasons why they are spending so much money is because they have not figured out how to ventilate their house properly – maximizing the money they are spending, and maximizing the way in which the outside temperature works to their favor.

Fans will be one of your greatest assets when you are trying to properly ventilate your home; people often think of using fans when their windows are open, but it can be just as beneficial to use fans when you are running the AC or the heat, as fans will help the air move around, which will heat or cool your house much more quickly.

Paying close attention to what the weather outside is like will be another key, as there will often be times – especially at night or early in the morning – when the outdoor temperature is much closer to what you desire than the indoor temperature; during such times, open the windows in your home and allow the outdoors to put your house at the temperature you want, without spending any extra money!

And for many poeple, they actually spend more money on heating and cooling their home than they want to spend simply because their A/C and heating units have not been properly cleaned; make sure that you are cleaning your A/C and heating units, and that you are changing the filters in your vents as regularly as you should, and this will go a long way in saving you money on getting your house to the temperature where you want it!

Writing A Great College Paper

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Many students will be heading off to college for the first time in a month or two, and as they enter this new stage of their life, they will realize that one of the big things they are nervous about is all the papers they will be expected to write during their time in school. But while you will need to take a slightly different approach to writing college papers than high school papers, the good news is that most of the papers are graded on "content" rather than on "writing," and as long as you take the right approach to getting all the content captured, you should not have any problem capturing all the content they want on your paper.

Many students who are first starting out in college make the big mistake of simply diving into the writing of their papers without taking the steps that should come before writing - and the first step you will want to take before you start writing is to examine the topic in question, making sure you have a complete understanding of the topic and of what you want to say in response.

You will continue to wait on the actual "writing" of the paper during the next step (the most important step of all!) and it is coming up with an outline; you should map out, in outline form, all the things you want to say in your paper, and the order in which you want to say them.

Once you have taken the time to understand the topic and to come up with your detailed outline, you will be ready to start "writing" your paper at last - and with the outline before you, this will actually be the easiest part of the process, as you will just simply need to work off the outline and "fill in the blanks."

For many students, it is a couple years before they are able to settle down with a system that truly works - but when you head into college with this approach in mind, you will be able to get started with a functional system right away, and can continue to improve your personal approach from there!

Tips For Taking The Right Steps To Plan Your Perfect Honeymoon

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
The first week you and your new spouse spend together as a married couple will be during your honeymoon, so it will be important that you understand the process you should go through in order to plan the honeymoon to be perfect for the two of you, as this will help to ensure that the two of you can get your marriage off on the right foot.

The budget can be the least-pleasant part of the planning, and for this reason, a lot of people will push off the budget until as late as possible, but realize that the rest of your planning will follow the budget, so you must make sure you plan your budget first.

Once you have your budget in place, you and your future spouse should talk about how the two of you see the honeymoon going - whether you see it as an opportunity to spend all day seeing sites in a foreign city, or whether you see it as an opportunity to lounge by the ocean while sipping tropical drinks; make sure the two of you are in agreement on this (or, at least, are as close to "in agreement" as you can be) before you move onto the next steps in the planning process).

After you have taken a bit of time to do some thorough research on different places that fit your desires, you will be ready to narrow down your list of possible destinations to between three and five that will work for your budget and your idea of what you both want the honeymoon to be.

And of course, once you have created this "shortlist" of possible destinations, you and your future spouse will be able to sit down and decide which of these places will be the best fit for the two of you - giving you both the honeymoon you dream of having!

The honeymoon is only the start of your journey together as a married couple, but taking the start seriously will go a long way in helping you continue down the right path!

How To Keep Cool In A Hot House

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
With summer upon us, the best way to make it through would be for you to be in a house that is cool and comfortable all the time, but either because of the cost of cooling a house, or because of things outside of your control (such as a house or an apartment in which the air conditioning unit is not top-notch, or living in a part of the country where the houses do not have air conditioning), you will often be in a house that is much hotter than what you would like, and you will be looking for a way to cool down!

Fans: One of the best ways for you to keep a house cooler is with fans, as you can set them up in various areas to keep the air flowing (after all, there is nothing worse than hot, stagnant air!).

Shades drawn: Keeping the shades drawn in your house at all times will also go a long way in keeping your house cooler, as this will prevent the sun from pouring in and baking the rooms of your house until they are much hotter than you want them to be.

Cool drinks: Keeping a cold drink near you at all times is another great way to stay cool in a hot house; you can achieve this with a glass of lemonade or fruit punch, or – most optimally – you can achieve this by keeping a bottle of cold water close by.

Windows: Finally, pay close attention to the temperature outside, as there will actually be times when having your windows open will be the right thing to do; whenever the weather outside is cooler than the temperature in the house, open your windows and move the fans in front of them, as this will help to usher the cold air in.

In the end, of course, there will be an element of simply “waiting it out” until summer passes and the crisper weather returns, but when you take these steps, it will be much easier for you to handle the heat while it lasts!

Tips For Making It Look Like You Are Home When You Are Out Of Town

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When you go out of town and leave an empty house behind, one of the most frightening things can be the fact that no one is there to look after your home. Even if your neighborhood has no precedence of break-ins - and even if you have never dealt with a break-in before - this can still be disconcerting. But even though there is a lot you cannot do to protect your house while you are away, the one big thing you can do is make it look as though someone is still at home. After all, intruders are far less likely to target your home if it appears as though someone is in there.

One of the best things for you to do, in order to make it look like someone is there, is to have someone come by and get the mail. After all, it makes it quite obvious that no one has been home for a while if mail is spilling out of your mailbox! Also, if you get a newspaper delivered (or if a weekly community newspaper is tossed onto your lawn), make sure someone grabs this for you as well.

You also should move your cars to your driveway or to the street in front of your house. This will not work if you have only one car and are taking a road trip with it or are parking at the airport, but if you are getting a ride to the airport or if you have multiple cars, it is better to park them where they can be seen than to park them in the garage and leave an empty driveway!

Of course, lights are a big deal, as lights on inside a house makes it look like someone is home. Set a few of the lamps in your house on timers that will turn the lights on and off every few hours. You should stagger the times during which these lights are turned on, and you should make sure one is always left on at nighttime. Motion-sensor lights and a timer on your front porch light are also great ways to make sure intruders feel less comfortable approaching your house when you are out of town.

Lots of people take no measures to protect their home, assuming that it will never happen to them; but it takes very little extra work to make it look like someone is home, and the payoff can be huge!
