How To Keep Your Car Cool When It's Parked

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
There is not much that feels more miserable than getting into a car that is twenty or thirty degrees hotter than the temperature outside in the middle of summer – and in fact, if you do not take the proper precautions to keep your car cooler when it is parked, your car can even be so hot that you will have to wait to drive it! Regardless of the precautions you take, you will still have to put up with a little bit of heat during the hot summer months, but these steps will help to make your car more bearable during these hot months of summer.

If you want to keep your car from being so hot, one of the main things you will have to do is park in the shade – but you cannot simply park where the shade is, as the sun will move during the day; when you are parking at a place where you will be for a while, you should figure out where the shade will be by the time you are returning to your car (and remember, it is better to park in the shade and walk a little ways than to park in the sun and have your car feel like an oven!).

Cracking your windows when you park will also be helpful; some people do not like to crack their windows, as they feel this makes their car more susceptible to break-ins, but if you crack your windows just a bit, your car will remain safe, and it will also remain a whole lot cooler.

You can also block the sun from coming in through your windshield by creating a bit of shade when there is no natural shade; while people think of car shades as being “very 1980s,” there are actually some very classy car shades being made today, and this will make your car feel a whole lot better when you get back in.

If you make sure to pay attention to these tips, your car will not be nearly so hot during the summer – which will make driving a whole lot easier, and a whole lot more enjoyable!
