Cloth Diapers Advantages and Disadvantages

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
When you have a baby you really want to do the best thing for them in all of the decisions you make. It seems like every decision you makes becomes important even what type of diapers to use. Do you use a disposible diaper, a cloth diaper or do you use them both? Before you make your decision you should know some of the advantages and disadvantages of cloth diapers.

Cloth diapers do have a number of advantages to them. If you are environmentally friendly cloth dipers may be higher on your list.  Cloth diapers reduce the amount of waste going to the land fill.  Also when you purchase organic unbleached cotton diapers you are minimizing chemicals when compared to disposible diapers. It is very rare to find a child that has an allergic reaction to cotton. You may find your child has a sensitivity to a soap you use but the cotton should not cause a reaction. There are many babies that have an issue with chemicals found in disposable diapers.

Though there is a higher cost up front for cloth diapers they are ultimately cheaper in the long run when compared to disposibles. Many mothers who use cloth diapers say their children potty train faster because they can feel when they are wet. This ultimately cuts down the cost also because the tots are not in diapers as long.

There are definite disadvantages to cloth diapers. Some daycares will not use them so you will end up using disposable diapers during that time. You will have to be doing a lot of laundry to keep up with the dirty diapers. There is also a time commitment when it comes to dirty diapers.

What diaper you choose to use is ultimately a personal choice. If you are interested in cloth diapers but don't want to commit to the laundry, there are a number of cloth diaper services in larger cities. These are companies who will actually bring clean diapers to your door and take your dirty cloth diapers to wash in industrial washers. You get extremely clean and well cared for diapers with little fuss on your end.
