Buying an Electronic Toothbrush

The Relationship Cure: A 5 Step Guide to Strengthening Your Marriage, Family, and Friendships
Oral health is for more then just minty fresh breath.  Brushing your teeth is incredibly important for your over all health. Heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and stroke are all now beginning to be linked to poor dental hygiene. Your lifespan can be increased simply by keeping your gums and teeth healthy.

Many dentists are beginning to promote the use of electronic toothbrushes over the manual brushes. Electronic toothbrushes are far more efficient at removing plaque from teeth. Electronic toothbrushes are cabable of improving gum health. This is all very important for oral health.

Electronic toothbrushes can have many features, so what should you consider? You will have the option of rechargeable batteries or AA batteries, sonic movement or spinning movement. No matter what brush you purchase find one that you can replace the heads on about every month. Otherwise you will have to toss the entire toothbrush and replace it again.

You will need to determine much you wish to spend. There are disposable brushes and models that are intended to be reused for a very long time. Two very nice reusable toothbrushes are Oral B and Sonicare.  These both contain rechargable batteries and can be used for a very long time. At about $100 you can purchase one of these high quality brushes. Oral B offers a spinning head on their models, while Sonicare offers a fast side-to-side motion.

Arm and Hammer offers the Spin Brush Pro Clean, which is a less costly option. This also offers changeable heads, which is a good sign for their quality of prodcut, and the option of replacing batteries instead of recharging them. This brush can be found around $10 but there are other good options that are at about $20.

Almost any electronic toothbrush is better then manual brushing if done correctly. Make sure to check with your dentist as to what brush will be the best for you.
